"Okay, I'll be home before seven and Jinyoung's on his way.", Jaebum jogged down the stairs and into the kitchen where Youngjae sat enjoying his breakfast.

He gave the younger a quick, firm kiss on the head which completely caught him off guard before he grabbed his bag and ran out the door. Woah.

Youngjae took the last bite of his apple before throwing it into the disposal and heading upstairs to get changed. He was glad to find that his fashion sense hadn't changed and picked out a dark blue yarn sweater and black jeans to pair.

He brushed himself up fairly well and just in time when he heard the doorbell ring. Running toward it and opening the door, his eyes met the wide pair on Jinyoung who also held his mouth agape.

"Hyung!", he exclaimed as he threw himself in Jinyoung's arms who was quick to accept his embrace.

"I came by to pick you up -- Jaebum said it wouldn't do you good driving. What's going on, kiddo?"

Unscrewing the lid off of his water bottle, Jinyoung gave Youngjae an odd look for the nth time that afternoon.

"What do you mean you don't know where you are?", he asked suspiciously.

"I mean, I don't know what this place is! Why is it already the year 2022? Who is that man I live with and why does he call himself my husband? W-What am I here? And! And! Who's Mark?"

Jinyoung took a giant sip of his water before sighing heavily. "Youngjae, I cannot help you if you can't even speak properly. This isn't making any sense -- how hard did you hit your --"

"I did not hit my head! Jinyoung, all I remember is falling asleep in the hospital and the next thing I know, I wake up here in 2022!", Youngjae exclaimed in desperation.

"Hospital?", Jinyoung frowned. "Youngjae, you haven't been in the hospital in years. Not since the follow ups after Jaebum performed your surgery."

The younger furrowed his brows, staring into space trying to make out just what the hell Jinyoung was talking about. He had never known Jaebum until the day before and he had no recollection of any kind of surgery whatsoever.

"Okay, okay. I don't know what's going on with you and how I'm gonna get you back to -- the past...", Jinyoung began reluctantly.

"...but maybe this can help -- you're still Choi Youngjae. You're turning twenty-six years old on September 17th, the same birthday you've always had. The man you keep talking about, Im Jaebum -- he's your...spouse."

"I don't know your complete story with him because God knows what you two have already done but you've been with him for over three years now. He's a doctor, and you're an author who works from home. The last story you wrote sold over thousands of copies and you're currently writing its sequel."

Jinyoung took a deep breath when he finished retelling his best friend's life story, as if a diver reaching the surface of the water. He took a few gulps from his bottle before sealing it once again.

"Oh, and Mark? Youngjae, Mark's my fiance.", he added.

"You're gay, too?!", Youngjae gasped, catching the attention of a few customers in the small cafe shop.

Smacking him across the head, the elder responded, "You know I'm not a fan of labels. Anyway, did that help?"

Nodding his head, Youngjae took a deep breath to allow himself to process what he had just been told.
