Chapter Eight

Chapter Eight - For Us

The thought of it is weird to me.

I never would've thought one of these days I would end up training to become a true bonder. Let alone a bonder to a royal couple to the vampire nation.

Now here I am walking into the building I work at with both Victoria and Noah leading the way. I've been living with these two for almost two weeks now and all this week they have been excited to start the preparation and I've just been. . .willing.

To my surprise when we walk inside I see my partner, Debbie, with a bright smile plastered across her face. Of course, she would be leading my preparation. I am literally the one person who always says they would never bond with a vampire and expresses it to her. Now here we are. I just know for a fact she is doing this to rub it in my face more than it already has been by Nadia and me.

"Abrams, Aubrey Impulse is so glad to have you here. We will prepare you all to go about having a bonder all the way up to your ceremony. I am Debbie and I will be your preparation leader for the little time we are together. Since Aubrey here is already caught up to speed with all of this stuff we're really just going to be diving into the big stuff today," Debbie makes her announcement and in there she makes sure to emphasize that I am a member of the Impulse family. Debbie is just like me in the Impulse business. We're both young and already training bonders and both of us have no desire to bond ourselves.

Noah and Victoria both look down at me since they both are taller than me. Victoria is just a little taller than me maybe by an inch or two but Noah definitely out beats me by about a foot.

We start to follow behind Debbie as they talk to me, "Are we going to be doing the blood preparations soon? Noah and I have only been drinking animal's blood ever since we discussed we wanted you to be our bonder. Sorry if it seems we're rushing it, love. We're just a little desperate at these times," Victoria explains to me their situation and I'm a little shocked about it.

They could easily get blood from anywhere anyone with the type of money they have but instead, they went Vampire vegetarian.

"Wow, all for me?" I question, jokingly.

"For all of us. We wanted it to be special when we tasted your blood for the first time," Noah answers as he straightens out the arms of his suit. This man is forever wearing a suit. I don't think I've ever seen him in anything else besides the time I walked in on them but he was wearing his birthday suit at the time.

Finally, we stop in front of a private room. They probably get a private blood preparation room because they are considered celebrities around here and to anyone who watches the news.

"You guys can hang out in here while I run and get the papers for Miss. Jacobs to sign to begin blood preparations," Debbie tells both Victoria and Noah as if they are my parents. She then looks at me, "Hopefully you ate a large breakfast this morning. There's water in the mini-fridge so drink up."

Debbie walks out the door leaving the three of us alone in the small room.

"Are you sure you're ready to do the blood preparations today? I hear it's a lot," Victoria worries aloud as I lay down on the hospital-like bed.

Resting my head back on the pillow and closing my eyes I respond, "No worries, it is a lot, but all I have to do is remain healthy and hydrated and don't put too much on myself which I already do so it should be a breeze."

Blood preparations are basically just donating blood to your bonder. Usually, any bonder not officially bonded would go through preparations until bonded when the vampire partner is actually able to feed off of you. Though when a vampire personally feeds off humans they don't have to drink too much due to it being fresh unlike drinking it from a pint bag. This is all to ensure the vampire partner is used to their bonder's blood and lowers the chances of them viciously attacking their human partner.
