Chapter 26. Truth and Lies

Dre & Jasmine Pov

I called Jasmine, only cause I needed someone to talk to. She answered the phone.

"Hey, what's up".

"Nothing much; just need a friend to talk to".

"What's wrong, do you want me to come over".

"No, I mean I do, but right now isn't best".

"What do you mean Dre, is everything ok"?

"Yea, I just need to talk to my close friend".

"Ok; well talk to me, what's going on".

"I'm starting to feel as though I don't belong here".

"Dre, I'm on my way over".

"You don't have to".

"Well as a friend I have to,  I'm on my way".

I sat on my porch eating sunflower seeds as Jasmine came out of her front door.

"Ok what's going on?", Jasmine asked.

"I got a lot on my mind".

"Is that why your sitting here looking like you lost your best friend, I haven't went anywhere", Jasmine said laughing.

"Tara cheated on me".

"What you mean, aren't y'all together?".

"She fucked another dude, then claims that she still loves me, and that it only happened cause she was in a weak moment".

"I'm quite sure it wasn't anything like that".

"Oh trust me, it was everything like that. She slept with another guy".

"How do you know, you know you can't believe rumors".

"This wasn't a rumor, this came straight from the her mouth", "It's not like I fucked around with you on that level while on the other hand she did".

"Look Dre I don't have anything against her, but maybe you guys need to move on. I mean to me, it seemed like your not really feeling her".

"Why you say that"?

"Because you always find a way back to me".

I starred at Jasmine, thinking to myself she is right, before I knew it I leaned over to her and begin kissing her. She went along with it for a min then she stopped me.

"Wait, I....., I think I should go". As she got up to walk away.

"Why?, what's wrong". Grabbing her hand.

"I can't do this, I still love you dearly, but I think it's best if I let those feelings go. I know I should just live in the moment, but I have a baby to live for now, but I wouldn't have this responsibility had you not persuaded me".

"I know,  I just didn't want you making a bad choice at that moment. I was supposed to have an older brother that my mom aborted".

"Ok but I'm sure she had her reasons".

"No there isn't any reason, I'd rather her been woman enough to deal with it like she did with me".

I walked into the house taking a seat on the couch as the anger built up in me slowly. Then I began to tell her how I found out about this supposed brother, "When I was snooping through my mom's stuff one day. I ran across some ultrasound pictures that she held onto, along with mines. Had she had him it would make him 4 years older than me."

"Look Dre, I know you wouldn't understand, but just think of the situation your mother may have been in at that time. She probably had her reasons, but you can't fault her for it. Me on the other hand, at first I thought to myself I couldn't do it, hell I still think that way but I'm definitely gone try".
