Enjoy,

Rain was falling hard and endlessly, pelting Aaron with fearsome resilience. The cold was freezing him to the bone and he could barely see through the constant barrage of water. In front of them was the town Otraka where they would hopefully get some supplies, but according to Slen, they had to be cautious . They were hidden by a small outcrop of trees near to the outskirts of the town.

" Okay" Slen said, getting up from tree trunk he had been sitting against, carefully scanning the way ahead. " We go now."

Aaron followed him slowly and then they both sprinted to the cover of some buildings on the edge of the towns. Slen turned to him.

"Aaron, follow me, don't make noise, and don't say anything." He said with an anxious look.

Aaron rolled his eyes.

" Of course your highness" he replied with a grin. Then seeing Slens face he added"Okay okay I get it." Seeming satisfied, his uncle turned back. They slowly and carefully made their way to where they could see some light coming out of a building, the light spilled out onto the cobbled stones outside and they could see shadows moving around. Then they heard men's voices in the building.

"I'm sorry but I don't know who that is"

"Okay, but if you see him tell us with ya" said a rather gruff, 'no-messing voice.' Slen frowned, this was going to be interesting.

The voices who they had overheard turned into two men, both dressed in the same jet black uniforms as the attackers back at the camp, confirming Slen's fears. They both wore dark leather trousers, Tunics, sleeve less jacket and thick, durable boots. The only sight of colour was on their shoulders and buttons which were a deep menacing colour of reddish blood. They stood outside, talking to each other for what seemed an age, then finally they headed off down the deserted street, into the heavy downpour.

"Where now?" Aaron asked nervously.

His uncle thought for a couple of minutes, then making his decision, signalling for Aaron to follow him, headed for the open door. Just outside he turned and whispered "Stay here and don't draw attention"then disappeared inside. Aaron rolled his eyes, then slumped down against a nearby wall, making sure to keep himself hidden from unwanted eyes.

Whilst waiting for Slen to finish whatever idea he had come up with, Aaron noticed something glittering across in a ditch on the far side of the path. Squinting his eyes through the rain, he tried to get a better view of the object, whatever it was, but with no success.

However, he was intrigued by this shiny object. Slowly, making his way out of his hiding place, he looked around to make sure it was deserted. No one was in sight so he quickly dashed across to investigate. To his dismay and disappointment, it was just a coin of some sort. Turning it over in his hands, he examined the surface, it was smooth, with an eagle encrusted in its face. Suddenly, he could hear several footsteps coming closer and fast. Shoving the coin in his pocket, he slowly peered down the street. There were many soldiers approaching, he needed to get out of sight. Looking around, the only hiding place was a small gap which seemed to go under the street itself. He didn't have much time, they were coming ever closer, soon they'd be on top of him. He managed to squeeze the lower part of his body in the tiny space, whilst pushing his back against the damp earth of the ditch. Now the footsteps passed right by his head, not noticing him. Aaron let out a sigh, in which caused the footsteps to stop.

"Did you here that?" said one of the soldiers.

"Hear what?"

"I don't know but I heard something"

Aaron's heart was nearly coming out of his chest, he had done it now, he was done for. But luck was on his side, the soldier soon dismissed what he thought he heard and they continued up the cobbled path.

Aaron wriggled out of his little hole to find Slen peering out of the door anxiously, catching sight of him, he expression turned to one of anger. When Aaron had made it back over, Slen nearly shook him to death.

"I gave you one instruction, one thing to do and you disobey me! Look what happened!? You nearly got yourself killed!" He said angrily. Aaron was about to complain but his uncle was having none of it.

"Right, thanks to me, we have shelter for the night and some food! Now get up there before I make you myself!" Aaron knew not to argue any more and sprinted up the stairs to his tiny room for the night and lay on his bed.

Looking up at the ceiling, Aaron fell into a restless sleep. They would have to wait until tomorrow if they had any hope of getting some equipment
