"Are you sure about this, Zayn?" asked Taylor as she stood in front of Karlie's locker with a daisy and a miniature basket of chocolate in hand.

"You really need to stop stressing out. Did this a hundred times before with Gigi."

"That's different. You actually had a chance with her. Me? Nothing."

"I don't think you understand, she tossed the flowers out in the bin every single time and gave the chocolate to random students."

"What?"

"What?"

"You became her boyfriend, though."

"Yeah, like two years later." scoffed Zayn. "And it doesn't really matter now, all throughout our relationship, she loved someone else."

"Sorry, Zayn." apologized Taylor, patting his back with sympathy.

"Nah, it's all good." said Zayn, forcing a lop-sided smile. "Anyways, we should definitely get these inside."

"How? You know her combination?" asked Taylor.

"Of course not, you just need to listen to the click."

Taylor gave him a face of pure confusion.

"Here, watch." said Zayn before walking closer to Karlie's locker, grabbing the lock.

"Now, listen to the click." said Zayn before scrolling through the first combination number carefully.

After a moment, a click went off.

"See, that's the one. The first combination number is 7." informed Zayn.

"That's so cool."

"Learned it from Kendall." told Zayn before continuing the following steps.

He unlocked Karlie's locker, it was a bit messy, but you can definitely tell that Karlie owns this. There were photos of her family taped to the door, some were the cheerleaders, and one was she and Josh. Karlie had her books propped up on the top part of the locker, and a medium-sized bag on the bottom, a water tumbler beside the bag. And the rest was clutter.

Taylor placed the daisy and the chocolate on top of the books carefully, inhaling the scent of Karlie's locker. It smelled exactly like her.

"What time is it?" asked Taylor before shutting the door on Karlie's locker, Zayn handed her the lock before looking at his watch.

"7:45."

"We better get to class." commented Taylor as she locked Karlie's locker.

Ever since the cafeteria food fight, Taylor was invited to eat lunch with the cheerleaders every single time. She often in between Liam and Harry, Liam sat next to Karlie and Harry next to Hailey—a really nice girl who had just entered the cheer squad this year, Justin in front of Taylor and beside him was Gigi and Kendall, Kendall beside Niall.

They were waiting for Karlie to join them, they have this weird thing when no one would eat unless everyone's seated. They truly are a family.

"Hey, guys. Sorry I'm late!" said Karlie before quickly sitting next to Liam.

"Don't need to apologize, we're used to it by now." commented Gigi with a small laugh.

"Yeah...when are you not late to something?" teased Niall with a chuckle.

Taylor was chewing her bottom lip, she didn't know how Karlie would react about the little gift she left in her locker. Did she even know it was there? Did she think it was Josh who gave it? Did she like it? Did she hate it? Uncountable questions ran through her brain.

The others began eating while Taylor just sat there, staring at her pizza rolls and fries.

"Why aren't you eating?" asked Harry in a whisper as the others continued their conversation.

"Karlie." answered Taylor in the same tone.

"Oh."

"Yup."

"Well, she loved it, if that makes you feel better."

Taylor stared at Harry who was taking a bite of his burger.

"Really?"

"Yeah. It's all she ever talked about in third period." said Harry, matter of factly.

"What did she say?"

"That it was the cutest thing someone did for her."

Taylor blushed, "Did she know who it was from?"

"Yeah, of course. She first thought it was from Josh but she asked him and he said no. They actually had an argument about it in second period. They were so loud that the teacher threw the marker at them." said Harry, trying not to laugh at the memory.

"What did they argue about?"

"Josh was going on about how Karlie shouldn't accept stuff like that. That's all I know, didn't bother to listen more." said Harry, taking a sip from his juice box.

Taylor took time to process his words, she never realized how toxic Karlie and Josh's relationship was, or more like, how toxic Josh really is as a person. Taylor pitied the girl, Karlie deserved someone better.

"Josh is an asshole." cursed Taylor.

"Exactly. I don't why Karlie sticks around."

"I want to find out."

Harry hums as he took another bite from his burger.

"Then I wanna show her how a girl like her should be treated."

Harry looked at her for a moment, licking his lips and smirking.

"Hey, everyone!" Louis' voice overcame the cafeteria noise, making everyone silence at once as they turned their attention to the blue-eyed boy who was stood on a cafeteria table.

"Party at my house on Saturday! Everyone's invited! There'd be free booze and good music! I'll text you all the address. That's it, have a good day, everyone!" announced Louis before jumping off the table, and everyone started talking about the upcoming party.

"You guys coming?" Karlie asked Harry and Taylor.

"Definitely."

"I don't know."

"What do you mean you don't know?" asked Harry, crossing his legs.

"Parties are not really my kind of thing." said Taylor truthfully. "And it's on Saturday, I have something planned with my mom."

"Mrs. Swift will love it if you went to a party." said Karlie.

"How'd you know?" asked Taylor.

"I went to your house, Sophomore year to give something my mom wants to give yours. She told me she's glad that you have friends like me to loosen you up a bit." informed Karlie.

"I'm not su-"

"I'll talk to your mom!" exclaimed Karlie. "Please, please, please, pleaseeee go." pleaded Karlie with a pout.

Taylor stared at her for a moment.

"Fine!" Taylor gave in.
