Unprofessional

Hello Ms. Smith

    I arrive at work at 7:15am 30 minutes early. My mom always says it's better to be early then late. So I'm always either 30 minutes or an hour early to be safe. She always told me that being late is lazy and makes your boss think you don't take your job seriously.
     My job isn't the best but it's not the worst either, I'm friends with almost everyone here. I've only lived in New York for a year and I've met some nice people.

   Good morning Faith says my colleague Annie with a big smile on her face,she trained me when I started last year. And we became friends pretty quickly she's very outgoing and just goofy.

Morning I said returning the smile

   We make our way into the big and very tall silver building, I press the button for the 55th floor , it's 56 floors in total. Our boss lives here too so the floor above the one we're going to is where he lives. Imagine never leaving work, that would be pretty boring to me.

I get a lot greetings from all my coworkers as I make my way to my desk.

Hey Faith I got you coffee says Lily

   Wow thank you but you didn't have to I said taking the Starbucks coffee.

I owe you since you saved my ass last week she says with a little giggle.

   I saved her from getting fired last week because she came to work a little wasted so I gave her my coffee and few pain pills, then made her hide for a little while until she was a bit more sober.

I laugh at the memory, hey you would do it for me so I had to help you out I said sitting down at my desk.

I got you whenever you need me she says patting my shoulder then walking to her desk.

   The morning goes on pretty slow and I was drowning in paper work as always it was like never ending situation. But that didn't stop me from working hard .

  Hey Faith the boss wants to see you says Alex winking at me he's another friend of mines. Who sits in the desk right next to me, he's that gay best friend that everyone needs in their lives or just don't know they need. He's so sassy and funny I couldn't imagine a day without him and his gossip.
   Almost everyone had a crush on Mr. Phoenix, I'm not gonna lie that man is fine as hell. Of course Alex had the hots for our boss.

I gave Alex a confused look because he winked at me, I wonder what he wants I said to Alex.

  Get your pretty self in there and find out says Alex pushing me out of my chair.

I laugh and make my way to Mr.Phoenix's office which were the  two black wood doors that were always closed, his office was right in the center facing the whole office. He always had lady friends coming in and out of his office, that was always the biggest gossip in the office.

I knock on the door twice, And seconds later Mr. Phoenix answers and tells me to come in.

I walk in to see him sitting at his desk looking at his computer. Once I get closer he shines a half smile.

  Hello Ms. Smith he says in a deep husky voice makes me feel chills run down my back I love men with deep voices. Ok I need keep a clear mind.

   Hello Mr. Phoenix what can I help you with ? I asked

His half smile became a full one as he looks me up and down, I started to feel a little strange and a bit uncomfortable. What was he thinking I wondered.

   Take a seat Ms.Smith he says standing up and fixing his dark grey tie. Then he made his way to the front of his desk and sat on the edge of it so he was now closer to me as I sat down in front of him.

  How would you feel about being my personal assistant? He asked

For a moment I took time to take in what he said, I was a bit surprised because I've only been here for a year and he wants to promote me already.

  M-Mr Phoenix are you sure I'm fit for this position? I stuttered.

I wouldn't have asked you if I felt like you were unfit Ms. Smith, he says

I see but I haven't been here long I said

  Are refusing a better paying job? Also a job that is a little  more interesting then the one you have? He asked

Of course not, I mean - he cuts me off

I've watched you work during the year you have been here you're a great worker and very smart you seem very committed to the company he says I've also noticed you're always early Ms Smith he adds

    Wait he's been paying attention to me? I guess my mom was right. I have to take this job. I look over to Mr. Phoenix I catch him body checking me, he notices me catching him and goes back to doing it anyway he wasn't embarrassed or seemed to care that I caught him.

So do you want the job? He asked

Of course I do thank you for the opportunity Mr. Phoenix I said standing holding out my hand to shake his.

He smiles, Your welcome he says taking my hand and not letting go. He doesn't shake my hand he holds it and rubs his thumb over my hand which sends a tingling feeling through my hand. But I quickly pull away, I clear my throat I know I made this uncomfortable now.

You start tomorrow morning at 6am he says.

I smile and nod then leave his office, all eyes were on me as I made my way to my desk. I know a 100 questions were coming my way.
