"so. . . you just never gon' talk to him again?" ray asked, choosing his words cautiously. he didn't want to irritate the girl next to him any further. she was fuming, smoke practically drifting out of her ears.

"yeah, that's what I said, man." (name) sighed, picking at her worn vans. she tried to remain calm, because if she didn't, she'd for sure lose her shit.

"you know how he is: he's gonna keep tryna talk to you." ray reminded his friend. It was true; fuckshit was a persistent guy, he'd find a way to talk to his (ex) girl.

"i'll just tell him to piss off - i told him i never wanted to see him again." (name) huffed in annoyance. she did a great job at avoiding him the past week, after she'd caught a girl sitting on fuckshit's lap, at a party the previous weekend. it tore her even more when the girl kissed him, slowly snaking her hands under his shirt.

"i'm not saying you have to forgive him, (name), but how long are you gonna keep this up? maybe you should just talk to him - break it off." ray suggested as he rested his back against the skate shop's wall. he had a point, it would be difficult to continue this cycle of avoidance. the fact that she and her ex-boyfriend shared the same friend group only added to it.

"i guess you're right, ray. I just wish it didn't end like this, ya know? almost been two years we've been together." (name) glanced at ray, a gloomy smile on her lips. sadness pooled in her eyes. she was angry fuckshit cheated but tossing a long relationship would be hard to let go.

"i know. he's my best friend but he needs to learn from his mistake. it's not right. and you need someone that's gon' treat you better. know your worth, (name)." ray added wisely.

"you're right," she stood from the ground, ray doing the same, "thanks for the help. you're the best."

(name) pulled him into a hug before heading back into the skateshop to leave. it was time to find fuckshit.

(name) watched the passing of cars from her window, the sky now darkened. ray was right: fuckshit called her homephone non-stop. after ignoring a handful of them, she finally had the guts to answer. he was babbling to her once she picked up, trying to explain the situation to her.

she simply told him to meet her at the skate park. before she left, (name) checked if she looked presentable. it was a habit of her's, especially during her time with fuckshit. but that was all over now. if you're going to break a boy's heart, why not look good while doing it?

(name) locked her bedroom door before she slipped out the window. a cold breeze of the night hitting her skin. she walked quickly and carefully. It was late and she didn't want to get into trouble.

once she made it to her destination, she noticed a figure sitting at one of the benches, illuminated dimly by a street lamp. long, blonde, curly hair peaked from the beanie on their head. it was no doubt her soon-to-be ex.

(name) slowly made her way over to him. he jumped up immediately once he heard the crunch of leaves under her shoes.

"oh my god, baby, i missed you so much! i want you to know that wha-" fuckshit was cut off by (name),

"i'm not your 'baby' and i don't care what you gotta say. i'm only here to end things once and for all." she snapped, glaring at him coldly.

fuckshit was a bit taken back by her actions. sure, (name) would put her foot down when angered, but she never acted like that towards him. he did deserve it, though. even if he didn't want to admit it.

"c'mon, (name)! i know what I did was wrong but i wanna make up for that. i'll do anything, i swear." fuckshit practically begged. it was amazing that this was the same cocky player persona that he hid behind.

"i can't let you do that," she scowled, "do you know how hard it's been? laying awake at night, thinking about that girl and wondering why i wasn't good enough in the first place. i'm done being second place. goodbye, shitfuck, have a nice night." she stormed off.

fuckshit called after her, in one last weak attempt, "she meant nothing to me, absolutely fucking nothing! she was just a toy but you, i actually love you. i only used her because you're my baby; i couldn't be rough with you 'cause i didn't wanna hurt you."

but (name) didn't fall for his ridiculous logic; she was smarter than that. she just kept walking.
