Blood. It gets everywhere. When one of them feeds, it destroys everything around it. They suck the life out their victims and then discard the body. These monsters have give no remorse for destroying lives. And, with no one else to stop them, it's up to us to destroy them.

The sounds of battle filled the large, cavernous training hall. Many young girls and boys trained hard so that they could protect. I stood off to the side, waiting for my sparring partner, a young, yet strong lady by the name of Lorraine, to show up.. She was always late, but I couldn't complain because she was the leader's daughter. But the longer I stood there, I kept thinking that maybe I wouldn't get to train at all today."I'm here! I'm so sorry Astra!" I heard the high pitched tone of the one and only - Lorraine Ainsworth. Then the bell went off and training was over for the day. I let out a soft, quiet sigh before turning around to face Lorraine. I placed a fake, but hopefully happy looking, smile on my face.
"It's fine," I said, even though I was lying since I didn't want to make her upset with me in fear of getting kicked out. She beemed back at me in response and we walked out of the training hall. So I decided to go to the local cemetery in order to cool off. There's always a witch there who likes to listen to my venting. In fact, I'd consider her one of my friends. As I walked dowb the street, I kept getting strange looks. I usually get ones of envy or admiration, but today it seemed to be ones of worry and pity.
That's when I smelled the fire.
My eyes widened as I saw the thick black smoke, billowing from the direction of my family's estate. I dropped my bag that held my clothes and ran towards home. I sped down the streets as I heard the sirens of the fire trucks. I reached the house to see my mom and baby sister standing across the yard from our victorian mansion that was lit ablaze from something. I mean my owned another house, but I was more co about my family than the building itself. I rushed over to my family and gave a large hug to tyem before smiling at my baby sister's cute babbling. My mom har tears in her eyes as she watched the home she grew up in burn down, I mean I grew up in it too, and it was sad that it was being destroyed, but I still was glad that she survived the whole thing.
"Are you okay mother?" I asked her as I pulled back from hugging her and reached out to hold Abigail. She nodded slightly before wiping the tears from her eyes. I looked over at her sympathetically as the firemen finally got here and began to put oyt the flames. An ambulance pulled up as well and checked my mom and little Abigail out as I sat off to the side. I knew that tomorrow I'd be leaving my family anyways as I'm finally going to the Huntress House where I'll start hunting and killing vampires. And now I felt bad about my leaving them here.
Suddenly screams could be heard over the noise of the emergency people, and I heard the words I knew would change my life.
Vampire attack.
I turned towards my mom as my outfit changed automatically into the Huntress Costume. It was a white crop top with light gold lining and a pair of crisp white shorts that also had the gold lining. My shoes transformed into knee high white boots with gold laces and heels. My mom saw my costume activate and she knew I would have to leave soon, so she nodded to me and I took off towards where the attack was happening at. When I reached the scene, a black haired and red eyed vampire was sucking the blood and soul out of a little girl who looked no older than nine. I quickly pulled out my double bladed scythe amd lept into the attack.
That's when it noticed me. It hissed before pulling out a long sword to fight me with and I let out a smirk. I would probably have the upper hand because of the weapons we were using. But I knew not to get too confident or cocky because it was still anyone's game. Jumping around trying to land a hit on this monster was extremely hard - their quick and very flexible. So I had to try to outsmart it. Finally I saw my chance and I slashed one of my blades through it's chest and it fell to the ground. My blade had been soaked in it's blood and so was the ground as the crimson liquid dripped down onto the concrete beneath it's limp, lifeless body.
"You are a quite skilled huntress," a male's voice sounded from somewhere above me and I shot my attention upwards to see a young adult man, mayhe in his early twenties, standing on a lamppost. I had no idea who he was, but he didn't seem like an ally. Still I needed to know his identity and intentions before any killing or attacking.
"Who are you!" I shouted up to him. He just gage me a creept smirk before sprouting a pair of black feathered wings and flew off the lamp. He landed directly in front of me and before I could react he lifted my chin so I could look into his eyes. He stared at me before answering with one single sentence.
"I'm your worst nightmare, little huntress."
