Posting for Chloe again *shrugs*

Liam lies on my, our, bed, scrolling through his phone while I'm crouched on the floor sifting through my bookshelf to find something to read.
While I do understand my phone completely now and I do like Netflix, sometimes I just want to read.
After a few more minutes, I hear a sigh.
"What are you doing?"
I glance over at my boyfriend who's looking at me a little impatiently.
"I'm trying to find a book." I tell him.
"You've read everything with words." He reminds me.
"I mean..." I trail off. "I know, but maybe I missed something."
"I'm sure you haven't missed anything." He says. "Here, give me your phone."
Confused, I hand it to him, watching as he starts doing something on it, tapping and typing way.
"Name a genre," he says after a few seconds.
"Uh, okay...mystery."
He taps the screen again and starts scrolling, and then he stops on one.
"Have you read Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn?" he asks.
"I don't think so," I shake my head.
"It's either about a murder or a kidnapping," he raises his eyebrows at me. "Is that going to be too triggering?"
Now, back when I was locked in Damien and Sabrina's house, I hardly had nightmares, but I also hardly slept. I would read a ton of books or instruction manuals, but if I read something about a kidnapping, all it did was make me sad.
The first time a read a mystery novel about a kidnapping after my escape was January of junior year. Liam was my best friend back then, and I woke up every single night screaming for two weeks.
So when he asks me if it's going to be triggering, I can see how concerned he is.
"It might be," I say finally.
"Okay, let's pick something else," he taps the screen again. "How about romance? I know you just love fantasizing over cliché guys," he glances at me and I find myself smiling.
He's acting like a little boy who got his pet hamster taken away. I can see the pout on his lips and I can't help but sit down next to where he's lying.
"You're my cliché guy," I tell him. I feel like a loser for saying something so, well, cliché, but clichés are cute and Liam's smile tells me he likes it.
"So do you want romance or not?" he asks after a moment of looking into my eyes.
"How about sci-fi instead?" I offer.
He taps my screen and starts scrolling again.
"How about Life as We Knew It by Susan Beth Pfeffer?" he asks.
"What's it about?" I ask. "Actually, don't tell me, I want to be surprised."
He taps the screen a few times.
"It seems like it might be good," he announces. "And it's a series. This one has the boyfriend stamp of approval," he presses his fist to my thigh lightly like he's stamping it, and then she shifts on the bed and pulls out his wallet.
"What are you doing?"
He looks at me like I'm an idiot, "Uh, I'm buying you the book."
"No you're not."
