My inner child would all ways come out for my birthdays. I loved to go to different parks every year, so did my parents, so that I didn't know where they where, so that I couldn't run away from home. I loved them, until I got left at one.
When I was thirteen years old, my parents left me in the tunnel slide at Old road park. I was in there for an hour waiting for my parents, because they said we were going to play hide-in-seek. It started to rain so I stayed in there longer. As the hours passed I started to get really tired. I laid down in the yellow tunnel slide.
I slept all night, and when I woke up I saw a boy standing in front of the hole looking at me. He yelled to his parents to come and see. When they looked in the hole I climbed up to the top so that they could not reach me. They started to ask me questions. One of the was, "Whats your name sweetie?" I answered Sophie. Their eyes got big and they had a small smile on their faces. The parents left to call someone. The boy was still there staring at me mesmerized.
He started to talk and said, "My name is William, but call me Will." I smiled a little bit and his smile grew even bigger.
He yelled to his parents in his deep but squeaky voice. "Mom, Dad come here. She smiled." I told him that my name is Sophie. His smile was ear to ear by this point. My eyes got bigger in fear by his smile.
When his parents came back they said, "We are going to take you to our house and clean you up, and then we are going to take you to the police station." I nodded. When we got to the parking lot of the old park; I saw a big truck with leather seats. I was all wet and muddy from staying in the tunnel all night.
Wills' dad helped me up in the back seat of the truck. The seat was cold against my wet skin and clothes. It was silent the entire way to their house until Wills' mom asked, "Where are your parents?" Wills' dad interrupted, "Why would you ask that?"
I said, "I don't know, my parents just left me at the park."
Her face turned bright red with anger. I could tell that she was not happy with my parents. She started to talk under her breath. I couldn't under stand her
.
Will was sitting next to me looking out the window. I looked at him and spoke. "Are they always like this?" He chuckled; grabbed my hand and said, "No they are just worried about you and so am I." I turned away and smiled.
We Finally got to the house. They threw me in the bath and got me cleaned up. When I walked into the guest room I saw a dress on the end of the bed. The dress was a beautiful mint green with green turtles on it. I walked to the dress and felt the fabric. It was soft; it reminded me of my blanket at home in my room. I started to cry, because of all the rushing memories in my head.
Wills' parent came rushing to the door. I herd voices coming from outside of the door. "Let me go in there. She needs a mom figure right now." The door opened and I saw her. she sat down beside me and said the dress looks beautiful on you. I told her about my blanket. Her eyes got big and her face got pale.
She and I had a long conversation about how so parents get over whelmed and freak-out, but they will all ways still love you. She said that she was sorry that she did not introduce her self to me. She said her name was Molly and her husbands name is James.
After Molly and I talked I came out of the room and down the wooden stairs. Will was waiting for me at the end of the stairs. He grabbed my hand and pulled me around a corner and we were in the kitchen.
His parents were standing there with muffins with chocolate chips in them. I told them that those were my favorite.
After we ate and got cleaned up we got back in the truck and drove down to the police station. When we arrived there was a girl standing in front of the doors. I whispered "Mom."
