Daniel:
I can not believe I have to deal with this before I leave. I haven't even brought all of my things down the stairs, and my father is already complaining about pointless things. But how can I be surprised, he never complimented me a day in my life? No matter what I di or how hard I work, it's never enough.
"Don't embarrass me! Remember it's my name and my reputation." I sigh hearing him say his favorite phrase.
"Yes, sir." I take all of my bags to the car and return to grab the rest. I walk in on my father and stepmother practically sucking each other's face off. Which is gross. She's like 20 years younger than him. I see her wink at me while kissing my father. I practically gag and walk upstairs. She's disgusting. I grab the rest of my things, leave the house without a goodbye, and wait for my driver to get in the car. I begin my journey to the hole my father is trying to throw me in. I normally would be hesitant, seeing that this has almost little to none credentials. However, any chance to leave that house, I would gladly take. That house is like a never-ending treadmill. No matter how much you run, or how many calories you burn, it continues going. There was never a limit in that house. I could cure several diseases, cure world hunger, and be the cause of world peace. But I still have to do more to prove I'm worthy. I never got an ounce of love in that house. And now, I'm free. I will just finish my last few years of high school at the academy, finish college at a university very far away, and continue my adult life never contacting this family again. My mother passed, so I have no reason to remain in contact with those people. I run my fingers through my auburn hair and watch the trees pass by one by one. I begin to wonder about the academy. I even searched the dark web, and there was nothing on the school. I can code my way in and out of any program, but this place is too much. I mean there is practically nothing to hack. I went through all of my sources, and there was nothing, I don't even know how the school knows about me, but all I know is that I got a brochure in the mail and saw it as a chance to escape.
"Are you alright Daniel," my driver is looking at me through the mirror. He has really been my only companion. Which is quite tragic. The people my age see my wallet and nothing else.
"I'm fine, Brian. I just am glad to be out of that house."
"I'm sure the academy will be just fine. I'm sure you will have a great time."
"I'm not really there to have a good time. I have some interesting theories I wanna test out."
"As long as you enjoy yourself. We will be there in a couple of hours."
I hope this place is worth all of this.
