She found herself walked around, familiarising herself with the place she once spent her childhood. The truth is, she had always kept who she used to be a secret. The world could never find out where she grew up or who her bloodline was. She knew that it would ruin her and her name if the information fell into the wrong hands, but she had trusted her closest friend Bianca with it. "Do you remember when you asked for those to be planted against my fathers wishes?" I glanced back and could see Bianca walking onto the balcony, I turned my attention and gaze back towards the gardens and could see all the white roses. "It was every rose Lorenzo told you to send me" I replied as I could hear something from behind in the distance, the sound of light mumbling grew louder as Bianca began to speak up. "He's completely captivated by you, he always has been since the moment he saw you." Emily glanced into her direction as Bianca looked back at her, before turning behind and catching both Lorenzo and Giuliano standing there. A small smile began to play on her lips as she caught Lorenzo's gaze, she could see how he couldn't believe who she had become- how much she had grown. She watched for a moment as they tried to seem as if they were talking, but Lorenzo couldn't tear his gaze from her. From her smile, from her green eyes or from the way she thought about him. It was like every word she spoke was said for him, every look, and every glance. She was the one who he wrote about and it would never change.
She took a step back as she felt an arm link with hers, and as she glanced back she could see it was Bianca. Reality had begun to settle back in, and snap both Emily and Lorenzo back to the world around them. "You need to stop that" I turned my attention towards my best friend as we began to walk away, I knew that I wouldn't get the chance to speak to him as of yet so I went along with whatever Bianca wanted to do. "What?" I asked and frowned. "You look at my brother as if he's the only thing you see but-" I cut her off and said "Does it really matter?" as she shrugged her shoulders in response. "You're a Queen and he's just a.. boy from a family of bankers"
"If there's anything you can trust Bianca, it's to believe the impossible can become the possible" I said and smiled as she shook her head in slight laughter and disbelief. Part of me had always wondered what it would be like, to have Lorenzo as mine but the other half of me knew that Bianca was right, no one would accept him as a King. "You sound like my brother" She replied and we had both laughed and smiled a little in response. "We're very wise people"Together we had walked through the hallways and towards the garden, the rest of the family where sitting outside eating, drinking and tasting grapes. I had watched for a moment as Bianca walked ahead, with the sound of voices growing louder as we drew closer. "Mother, father. We have a guest" I had smiled a little seeing and hearing how happy she was, I had continued to walk along the trail and came into sight. "Emily?" I could hear the sound of disbelief and confusion in the tone of Lucretzia voice, I watched as they glanced between each other before slowly beginning to stand and walk towards me. "What are you doing here?" Lucretzia was the first to truly speak up and wrap us both into a much needed embrace. "I apologise for the unannounced arrival" I replied but she had shortly shaken her head in response. "You know you're always welcome here" I had smiled a little in response as I followed in her trail and joined her and Bianca, I had forgotten how nice it was here. You could see the vines of grapes trailed across the garden, with the roses growing in another. It was truly a beautiful view. "What does bring you here? And it can't just be because you missed my brother" The sound of Bianca's voice broke my daze, she would always joke about what was between Lorenzo and I. But as I looked back at her and her mother part of me knew they had some idea. "I missed my home" It wasn't a complete lie I did miss them- this place, but I should only be speaking to Lorenzo as to why I came.
As a child I spent my childhood here but I had always seemed to miss meeting Lorenzo and his brother. I would either be one side of the house and he would be the other, or I would be leaving as he would be arriving. It was by chance that I had noticed him at the market place as a teenager, and yet, not a day went by where I didn't think about him. I knew that most would not be happy at my request, but I had asked the Medici's to not speak of me or who I was to him, I couldn't put him or anyone else in that type of danger. "Home?" The three of us had heard the familiar voice, and looked up to see it was Lorenzo and his brother with a look of confusion across their features. "since when?" Giuliano asked as he took a seat on the fresh green grass. "Emily grew up within these walls as a child with Bianca" Lucretzia replied and smiled softly as we watched Lorenzo shortly join us. "That's impossible, we would have seen her" Giuliano's words had sounded more of a question, even as he laughed a little at his own mothers words. "Why would I lie to you?"
