Do You like Coffee, Huh?

Towards the late afternoon, I returned home. I had thought about that boss all the time.

I went into my room. The computer was off. I sat down.

I did not have time to press the button, that the screen lit.

Cuphead's home screen appeared. Only this time they did not move.

Now they were sad and the background was darker than the last time.

There was something wrong with the game, and it was like someone wanted me to play.

I tried to shut down the computer, but it didn't obey. All I could do was start playing again.

I entered the stage, this time the colors had disappeared and the atmosphere was more oppressive and dark.

I could hear some sinister background noise. I came up with the idea of making some screenshots, doing so, I had proofs to show to the other beta testers.

I walked, found the sign with the question mark and crossed it. The boss was there in front of me.

I took some screenshots.

Before he transformed itself, he said: they are all inside me.

Was he referring to the bosses?

This time he turned into Rumor Honey bottom. She began to throw me the magic spheres, I tried to avoid them while I was shooting wildly with my only weapon available. After inflicting several damages, I've defeated her.

Now he became Grim Matchstick, the dragon boss. He started throwing fireballs.

I was hitted twice. After half a minute, I lost..

Weird... I immediately understood that he was referring to computers.

Being a cartoon character of the pre-war, he obviously found the computers of our day fascinating even though they weren't able to serve coffee.

But the curious thing was that he spoke with a slang typical of the 30s.

A "cup of joe" was an old popular term referring to coffee in a cup. I remember my grandfather used that phrase often.

I restarted the game. This time, it turned into the hypnotic carrot.

I started to shooting him as much as I can. I managed to defeat him in a couple of minutes.

Subsequently, the boss turned into Hilda Berg. I took two screenshots

All the bosses used their moves... but they were sped up and programmed chaotically.

You could not have foreseen an attack because it alternated with other intermittent or variable-intensity attacks and then deal damage with another type of attack.

This made the game not only ultra hard, but impossible. I could have never beat them.

In fact, after a few seconds, I lost the game.

I was exhausted, I would never have done it.

I bared my eyes... it was impossible. I did not believe what I was reading.

"Do You Like Coffee, Huh?"

I looked to the right of the table, next to the mouse. There was the coffee cup I had drunk in the morning. It could not be true. It was absurd.

Yes ... I am an espresso lover, but I can swear I never wrote anything like that anywhere.

Never before. Neither on the computer nor online.

I stood there, petrified for several seconds. Trying to leave the game would not work, so I've turned off the computer manually.

I stood there in front of the empty screen, then turned it back on.

What if the game started? Instead, luckily, I could normally log in with my account.

I waited a minute, then went looking for screenshots.

I found them in the desktop in a folder with no name. I looked inside the folder

Some images were blurred, while others only represented a white question mark.

Only one image depicted something concrete. It was an old poster that promoted a cartoon.

Below was the boss, posing smiling, to present the title of the short film:

"The Curse of Imagination" created by Deepwell Studios.

It would have been projected in June 1930 at the Pittsfield theater in Massachusetts.

Above, I noticed that the animation studio was near Prescott, in the Middle of the Hampshire. I turned off the computer. I Rubbed my forehead.

All this ... was absurd. But I had to shed light on the matter.

I decided that the next day, I would go and look for that animation studio, and being in Hampshire it would take about two hours. Started to prepare the backpack with everything needed for the trip. A torch, a camera, a satnav and a pen with a notebook; it would have helped me if I had to note down useful information.

Without forgetting the mobile phone with the battery charger and various documents for the trip. I closed my backpack.

I felt a weird tingling all over my body, I had this strange feeling that something sinister was waiting for me at my arrival. It was late, I got ready for the night and went to bed.

After a couple of hours, I fell asleep.
