As he drove me to school, I almost felt bad for what I knew was going to happen tonight, but then that's what he gets for being a mega 'player' and breaking all those other girls' hearts. It's about time he gets a taste of his own medicine. It's the guys like him that think they are the shit, and they mess with these innocent girls' hearts. They think that they can just have a fling or a fwb(friends with benefits) and just leave without another glance or a phone call. It's not right. They make innocent people fall head over heels for them, and crush their hearts without a second thought.
"Kamrynn did you hear me?" Dean said interrupting my thoughts.
"Uh no, sorry.. I uh was thinking about something."
"Oh I just said we're here... at school" I nodded my head, and headed toward the front entrance of the building, when I felt a pair of arms snake around my slim waist.
"No kisses for the boyfriend." I turned around and plastered a fake smile on my face.
"Sorry babe." I gave him a quick peck on the lips, and continued on my way. To spice things up, I walked to the end of the hall, and threw him a kiss over my shoulder.
He blushed. Oh god. Dean Holloway blushed. Great.
I served my stupid In School Suspension, and soon it was the end of the day. As usual, Liam was standing by my locker. Well that's only because his locker is right next to mine.
"Hey Sapph. Wanna hang later, maybe see a movie?" I could feel a smile spread across my face subconsciously until I remembered.
"Ugh. Sorry no can do babe. Dean wants to take me out on a special date tonight." I said frowning. Hanging out with Liam is so much better. That probably has something to do with the fact that he is my best friend and I have no feelings for Dean.
I looked up at Liam. His expression was unreadable, but I could have sworn I saw a flick of hurt in his eyes. But then he smiled.
"Oh that's okay. As long as we're still on for Friday."
"Of course. I wouldn't miss it for the world. Even if I had to sell my soul to the devil." He smiled, but then I frowned, as I saw Dean coming down the hallway. "Ugh speak of the devil and he shall appear." I groaned.
"Hey Kam." I hate being called 'Kam'. It's so cliché. Just because my name Is Kamrynn doesn't mean I want to be called that.
"Hey."
"So, I'll pick you up for our date at 7 pm. Is that cool?" I nodded.
"Oh and the dress is fancy. I have a surprise for you." My eyes averted to Liam, but he avoided my eye contact.
"Okay. Can't wait." I said, and he took off.
"Why do you do this Kamrynn?" Liam asked me. I rolled my eyes. I have explained to him on many occasions why I do what I do.
"Liam we have been over this a million times," I said walking towards the parking lot with him at my heels.
"No I mean, what made you this way? There's gotta be something, and every time I ask you, you avoid my question. You know you can tell me anything right?" I gave him a weak smile, trying to swallow the lump that was forming in my throat. Just thinking about what happened when I was ten made me want to cry. But I don't cry. Not even in front of Liam.
Pull it together Kamrynn.
He sighed when he knew he wasn't going to get any answers, and dropped the subject. Of course I was grateful. But sometimes I wish he knew. I wish that I could tell him, but he would never see me the same.
