11) Ritual

I woke up this morning with a text from an unknown number. It was an invitation to a ball. My guess is it's from Kol. It read

Your family
This evening at seven o'clock
For dancing, cocktails and celebration

'Ha, what a joke.' I thought. Of course I'm not going. I am going to New York to do some retail therapy. I got dressed and sped to New York. I had a huge shopping spree and when I got home it was already one in the morning. I got dressed in one of my new dresses and went clubbing.

Niklaus POV
Kol sent Brie an invitation to the ball. We were all getting ready to go but we were just all kind of sad from last night. Kol tried to make a joke
"Rebekah tell me how handsome I look."
And Rebekah jokes back
"Oh Kol you know I can't be compelled."
I was too busy in my drawing. I was drawing our family. And was going to give it to Brie. I just have to find out where she is living.
The ball
The ball was starting and we were all waiting for our sister to arrive. When it was time to start we had to start it with out her. I saw the Salvatore's, the doppelgänger, Caroline and everyone else except my sister. It was time for the dance and I was dancing with Caroline but I just wanted my sister to walk in fashionable late like always. But she never did.
After the ball Kol, Rebekah and I was sitting in the couch when Elijah walked in he looked baffled and said
"I'm concerned about our mothers intentions. She burnt sage while talking to Elena."
"Didn't the doppelgänger tell you she just wanted to apologize to her?" Kol asked
"Yes but how do we know we can trust her?" Rebekah asked
I felt this burning feeling in my chest.
"Do you guys feel that burning in your chest."
"I think mothers trying to kill us." Elijah said
"Where would she be?" Kol asked
"The old witch house." I said
"Let's go" Rebekah said
We all ran to the old witch house to see mother and Finn inside a salt ring with torches around it. Finn said
"Mother get behind me."
"It's ok Finn they can't get in." She said
Kol started to get closer and the torches lit up fiercely. Mother was doing the spell and the burning was getting worse. We fell to our knees in pain but then I heard chanting. But it wasn't my mother. I looked up and saw someone coming up behind our mother. Then pain started to ease. And I heard our mother say
"No sister do not abandon me."
"You can't get in." Finn said
Then I heard her. I stood up along with my siblings and there she was. Brie.
"Can't I" She said and smirked
Then she stepped right over the barrier.
"How did you-" Mother started but she was cut off
"I'm more powerful than you think. Don't underestimate me."
Finn tried to speed her away but Brie put up another barrier. With the wave of her hand she snapped Finns neck." Then she started walking to our mother and said
"You should have stayed dead."
Then she rushed to her and but her neck. She killed her once again and we she looked up to face us she had blood dripping off her chin.
"Sister." I said
"Don't" she responded

Brie's POV
"After I saved their asses I knew they needed to be unlinked immediately. So I put me aside and offered. After I killed our mother for the second time. Nik said
"Sister"
All I said was
"Don't"
"You guys need to be unlinked. I'll do it tonight."
I spoke then Elijah offered me his handkerchief and I took it and wiped my chin. Then continued with
"Get Finns body and meet me at your house"
"Our house." I looked at him and said
"What."
"You said your house. It's our house. All of ours including yours." Nik said
"Just meet me back there." I said
Then I sped away to theirs house. When I got there I went to mothers spell room and found the things I needed. I got a paper with all of their names on it and got candles. Now all I needed was their blood. Just then they walked in. I didn't look at then. I gave them each a bowl. And said
"I need you blood."
Then I went and got Finns who was laying on the floor. Once I had everyone's blood I did the spell to unlink them. Then I told them
"It's done"
The I started to walk away when I heard Kol
"Brianna Wait."
I didn't turn to face them. I just stoped

"I'm so sorry we didn't stand up for you. You were just a little girl and none of us did anything to stop father. We were just scared."

I turned to face them I had tears in my eyes but I didn't let them fall. Rebekah did. None of my brothers were crying.

"You don't think I was scared? When I would stand up to Mikeal when any of you were getting beaten. I was terrified. I was a ten year old girl who was challenging her father. Who am I kidding. I still am ten. I was turned into a vampire when I was ten. Rebekah you were seventeen and Kol you were nineteen. Elijah and Finn were older than you two. But no one ever stood up for me. I was a child. But don't worry I understand my place in this family. I'm the bastard child right?"

"No Brianna you are not the bastard child. You were a child and we never stood up for you. We never had an excuse except fear. We wouldn't even think about questioning Father. But you were special. You had so much courage that none of us had. I'm so sorry. I miss you Brianna. It's time for us to be happy. To be a family again. Because I can't live knowing that you are disappointed in me. You are my little sister and I need you." Kol said

By this time my brothers were crying. But I never let a tear fall. I couldn't help myself though. I ran to my older brother and I hugged him like it would be the last time.

"I missed you too Kol. I love you brother."
"I love you too."
Now I had my eyes closed and I was crying. But I was in my brothers embrace so I didn't care. I've wanted this for a long time but I couldn't give in. When I finally let go he put his hand on my face and wiped away my tears the. I turned to Rebekah and she said
"Sister"
I smiled and she ran to me. After that I have a hug to Elijah and then went over to Nik. He said
"I didn't mean to disappoint you sister I'm so sorry. I thought I lost you for good."
"You never disappointed me Nik. I love you. Always and forever."
