I marched down the road, backpack over my shoulder, towards the bus stop. Moments later, I saw my brother's car drive up the road, slowing down as it neared.

"Hey! You coming?" Elliot called from his banged-up, old, black Chevvy; I forgot it was his first day too.

"Er... yeah. Beats waiting for the bus, I suppose." I shrugged, jumping in beside him.

As he started driving down the road, I felt the Californian heat on the back of my neck, so I yanked out my sunglasses. His dark brown hair was brushed over his face, slightly, and he wore dark blue jeans with a white t-shirt. We pulled up at the huge school and I hopped out the car. It was so busy! There was people left, right and centre! I heaved my bag onto my shoulder once more and moped into the building. Hundreds of people, of all ages, rushed past me. Eventually, I found myself at the main office; I handed in my transfer papers to the woman at the desk.

"Oh okay." She typed something into the computer beside her. "Ah! Well, here's your locker key. Number 296." She said, too enthusiastically, as she placed the key on the counter top. If every person here was like that, I might as well just have died right then.

"Thanks." I sighed, smiling slightly, and took the key.

I travelled down the corridor full of lockers, until eventually finding my silver, steel locker with '296' printed clearly on the front. I opened it, slowly. Pulling my time table from my bag, I saw that I had homeroom, Geometery II, then Culinary Art Honours, lunch, then P.E II all afternoon. All Honour classes, but oh well! I placed my books, that I didn't need, and P.E stuff into my locker. As I closed and locked the container, I saw a couple of boys at the end of the hall, sitting on the stairs. They looked cool. One of them had long black hair; another had medium-length hair, dark hair, which stuck up all over and the last one had staight, light brown hair, that flicked over his face, slightly. They looked pretty cool, but I didn't dare speak to them; what if they were complete douchebags? I decided to just leave them and go to homeroom. Room 206. I sighed and stared aimlessly at the floor, as I walked up the corridor, towards the mystery boys, and climbed up the stairs. I didn't dare look at the boys, but I saw the one with the light brown hair watch me as I went passed. My eyes glanced over at them and I gave a small smile at the one who looked at me. He smiled back. He was cute; He had really dark, brown eyes and a nice smile. I felt my cheeks go quite red and rushed up the stairs. Soon, I came across Room 206. I entered, cautiously.

The room had about 30 people in it. They were all talking to their friends and I saw my teacher at the front, sitting on her desk. She was about 30, long blonde hair tied back into a ponytail; she wore a white blouse with black polka-dots on it and a knee-length, charcoal pencil skirt. Regular teacher, nothing special. I wandered over to her and she turned to me, grinning.

"Oh hi!" She greeted me.

"Er... hi." I answered. Great. Another overly-enthusiastic one.

"You must be Jayme!"

"Yeah..."

"Well, it's great to have you here with us, Jayme. If you wait a few minutes, everyone will be here and  I'll introduce you. I'm Miss Wright, by the way."

"Er... okay."

"So, you're from England?"

"Yeah."

"Oh good! You can tell the class what it's like over there!"

"Er, yeah, I suppose I could..." I mumbled.

"Okay, then."

The first bell rang and eveyone sat at their desks. It was weird how relaxed, yet dicsiplined everyone was. A few more people walked into the room, chatting away to eachother. The guy with the spiky, dark hair came in, grinning to himself. He looked like he'd been laughing at something. I noticed that he had the brightest green eyes I'd ever seen. They were like newly polished emeralds, absolutely beautiful. He was dressed in black skinny jeans, a black t-shirt and black leather jacket; he must've been boiling in this heat! He took a seat at the back. My concentration was brought back to my teacher; She'd began talking about me.
