Paul Miller – "The Locksmith"

Paul clambered out of bed and out into the hallway in his grey shorts and red t shirt. The elevator made a ding sound and someone stepped out. It appeared to be an average looking guy taller than Paul who was decked out in high end equipment. He wore a black all purposes helmet that covered all hair and there were small light blue holographic screens projected near the side of his dark blue eyes. The helmet was special in that only high level IBF members used them and they made a neurological connection that essentially synced the thoughts of the brain with the interface. It had hundreds of functions and all you would have to do if you wanted one was think of it. It could use all the abilities that Elenora had with her eyes and probably more which was why she was technically useless and in one of the lowest tier squads.

The newcomer was also outfitted with most notably his custom made black vest that was by all means laser and bullet resistant along with beige boots with silencing, platform formation, footprint dissipater, and gravity alteration. Paul could tell by his equipment that his ability and skillset must have been stealth and agility based.

Under his black vest was a grey camo army jacket and his combat pants were beige and functional looking. Paul was really curious as to why this boy from Squad A was suddenly here on floor 2 with the second to worst squad in the IBF. The media was usually always following Squad A and their missions but Paul hardly knew this guy because he was rarely on camera and his powers were unknown. His codename though was Fragment. Outside of your squad, the world and other IBF members only knew you by your codename.

The thing about higher squads like A was that they're abilities were classified as Flawless. Most people with abilities were Flawed meaning usually they had a negative consequence of using them while the Flawless had none. Elenora was one of the rare Flawless in a low tier squad because her ability was nowadays unnecessary and obsolete.

The others had come out of their room and were also admiring the sight of their superior.

"Robin Anderson reporting for duty!" he said in a deep voice and saluting.

"It's a pleasure to have you with us," Gary said approaching and shaking Robin's hand. "Finally someone with discipline."

"Hmph. I have disipin." Elenora said crossing her arms.

The door to deceased squad mate Mia's room opened and Foreman poked his head out. He must have gotten her room Paul thought a little disgusted. Mia died a few years ago shortly after joining in some freak accident and right when Paul was starting to get to know her. He wished there was a normal girl in the squad.

"Another guy? Great," Foreman said closing his door in disappointment.

"We're all really tired from a mission last night; you can take the room at the end of the hall on the left," Gary said yawning. Elenora did not seemed tired and ran up to Robin excitedly.

"Want to be friends? Let's be partners!"

"That is up to Mr. Trebone," Robin said emotionlessly.

"Awww okay."

"Hey Robin why'd you get transferred here anyway?" Paul asked.

"Classified," was all he said as he walked past him and into his new room at the end of the hall beside Paul and across from Foreman.

Most of them slept for a couple hours and woke up in the afternoon. As Paul was making his way to the kitchen he saw Robin in his new office, helmet and scarf still on looking through screens on the helmet interface. When he got to the kitchen he found Elenora, Foreman, and Pedro at the table eating what he thought was breakfast than he realized it was around 3 so late lunch.
