Paul Miller – "The Locksmith"
"Where have you been?" Gary asked a touch angrily. "The others are out there looking for you. You've been gone for over 24 hours!"
"I almost died. The LoL put bounties on us after that mission. I was recovering." Paul said defending himself.
"Damn! Why didn't you bring Pedro? You guys are partners. I thought I told you it was safer to travel in pairs."
"I was just shopping, he hates shopping." Paul lied. He thought it would be best if no one knew about what he was doing and what had happened to him.
"So where did you get help? You don't exactly have a lot of money." Gary asked.
"I called Mark, I owe him big time," Paul lied again.
"You're going to get yourself into bigger trouble with that guy. I told you to stay away from him, he's bad news." Gary scolded him.
"There wasn't exactly anyone else that was going to come help me."
"We better lay low for now. Don't go back to Virtuo," Gary said. "I'm going to go call the others back here," he said leaving and getting into the elevator.
Paul sighed. He hoped the squad wouldn't make a big deal out of it.
"Oh Paul I'm so glad you're okay," Sam said rubbing her head against Paul's shoulder wearing her new wig with long brown hair, that looked similar to her former hair.
"It's just a game. I wouldn't have died for real."
"As I told Paul, you guys are to stay away from Virtuo for until I give the okay," Gary told them.
"Aww," Elenora responded bummed out.
Paul didn't intend to follow his orders. He was going to work for Elena, and it wasn't like Gary was following there every move. His orders to Paul were more of a suggestion rather than a demand. That night Paul talked to Pedro when everyone was asleep and told him everything. "Don't tell anyone, you're the only one who knows."
"I don't know man this family seems real suspicious," Pedro said sceptically.
"Trust me I can handle myself," said Paul.
"I guess so just be careful I guess. Maybe they're so rich because the husband is a drug lord."
"Really?' Paul looked at him with a piercing gaze.
"What?"
"Is it cause they're Hispanic?"
"No... Okay yes."
"Wooww Pedro. Well if they are I'll take it back but that is pretty racist."
"Whatever," Pedro said rolling his eyes. "Why didn't you tell Gary at least?"
"Are you kidding me? Gary would definitely not approve. I never tell him anything anymore."
"He knows what he's doing you should trust him," Pedro told him.
"He's not my dad. I'll do what I please."
"Be careful Paul, you're going to end up doing something you'll regret."
"That's why I have you Pedro. You'll always have my back right?"
"Of course."
