It's Starting {Magi x Reader}

Night 4: Alibaba

Traveling along the desert road, a cart full of tense atmosphere and fake smiles went on, oblivious to what lies under the sand of which they travel.

"Hahahaha! How sad!" Alibaba falsely laughed to his rich passenger.

A monster, out of their sights, and them, riding right into its grasp. Vines sneakily slithered their way out of the sand and to caravan's wheels. No one aware

?! The whole party and its contents where thrown wildly and leaving everyone in a daze. Something obviously happened but what could it be? The mother of the small girl was the first to ask this question "wh-what happened?!" Then... They all saw it. Grotesque "what's that?!"

"A desert hyacinth!!" Alibaba shouted.

"Ugh" (Y/n) groaned while getting up for the ground. Aladdin and (Y/n) were thrown a little farther from the group but close enough to hear about the situation. "No way! This isn't good!!" (Y/n) though before Aladdin tugged on her clothes for attention.

"...(Y/n), what is a Desert Hyacinth?"

"...It's a carnivorous plant. Don't go near it." Both of your attention was caught up in the commotion.

Over with Budel, his concern was with his source of profit. "Hey! Save the wine!" He barked at Alibaba.

"Right! Of course!!" Alibaba repeated, scrambled to grab the barrels. "I can't let my livelihood get eaten!!"

     While the two men were doing this, Budel butt-bumped the little girl over the edge.  Both Alibaba and Budel reached out but...

     "MY WINE!!!" Budel grabbed the wine while getting in the way of Alibaba's attempt to catch the girl.  And she fell, tears in her eyes.  Everyone: (Y/n), Alibaba, and Aladdin were frozen from shock.  The most heart-wrenching part?  The girl's crying mother trying to lunge in after her child.

     The most disgusting part?  "This is our chance! It can't move while it's eating!" Budel.

     (Y/n) couldn't stand it anymore.  She couldn't listen to a mother's cries for her child nor could she let a child suffer without trying to help.  "I don't know if I can do much now but I have to do what I can!"  She left Aladdin and ran towards the mother, not seeing his reaction to any of this. Aladdin looked surprised as his friend got up and rushed off towards where everyone was running away from.

     Alibaba stood, motionless and dazed.  He couldn't move.  He could only hear his international cries. "Hey! Someone save her!!"  He couldn't believe what just happened. "Someone...someone..." He was only shaken slightly conscious by Budel's hard slap on the back.

     "Come on! Grab some wine!!" Budel barked before giving him a sly look.  "You're a hard worker so I'll pay extra!  Double!  Triple!!"

     Aladdin watched on at the event with a dark expression. Disappointed might be the word to explain what he was feeling. It reminded him of what Alibaba said earlier about the rich being able to buy anything. "He's wrong..."
