"Neeeaaaooowww!!" A voice echoed through the lovely Sunflower Valley. Scrambler was riding on his metallic blue off-roader which shone brightly in the sun, along with that, his friend named Benny was with him.
Benny called from behind, "Scrambler, slow down! We're going to fly to the next country if you hit something!" He laughed, using one of his hands to make sure his helmet stood in place. Scrambler laughed as well, revving up his ATV's engine even more. Ironically, the ATV's tire hit a large rock, making Scrambler swerve.
"W-WOAH!!" Scrambler cried, trying to make the vehicle steady once again. Benny shrieked and grasped Scrambler's torso tightly. Thankfully, the blue haired boy got his balance back on his ATV.
Scrambler heaved a sigh, slowing his pace on the vehicle, "Sorry about that, Benny..." The now worrisome teenager looked behind his shoulder, "we'll get to Bob's yard in no time." He said reassuringly. Benny smiled and nodded, and they continued on their route, passing by some peculiar plants on the way. The trees and bushes looked dry and wilted, which is strange in the lively town of Sunflower Valley.
When the two teenagers arrived at Bob's yard in Sunflower Valley, they greeted the builder himself. As Scrambler was getting off his vehicle, he asked Bob if they can help with any job they had today.
Bob chuckled, "Sorry, you two, but we don't have anything for you yet. All we have to do is build a new barn for Farmer Pickles in Bobsville." He informed. The two boys sighed in discontent, but decided to stay and watch the team when they were ready to head to work. One by one, everyone came out of their trailer, ready to work for the day; even Lofty was ready. Bob began to tell his team about their job, to which Scoop, Roley and Muck chuckled when they heard it was about Travis. And Lofty knew exactly why they were giggling and chortling, though he didn't say anything about it. When the builder finished explaining, they all chanted, "Can we fix it?" With everyone chanting back, "Yes we can!" Then they all began to set off back to the simple town of Bobsville.
The Can-Do Crew finally reached Farmer Pickles' farm, Bob hopped off of Scoop's backhoe loader and greeted Farmer Pickles.
"Hello Farmer Pickles!" Bob said warmly, walking towards him.
"Ah, hello Bob!" The kind, old farmer replied, "you got the plans for my new barn?" He asked.
"Indeed I do, Farmer Pickles!"
The two men began looking over the blueprints that Bob had around his arm. This gave the machine team time to talk about whatever while the builder and farmer were discussing on the plans. Just then a familiar turquoise tractor drove onto the road next to everyone and just like before, the tractor was hitched up to a wooden trailer. The person driving the tractor, Travis, came out and greeted everyone.
"Hello everyone! Are you building Farmer Pickles' new barn?" Travis asked innocently.
Bob nodded, "Hello Travis! And yes we are!"
Scoop then decided to include himself, "If it doesn't rain, we can finish it all today around in the evening!"
"Oh, that's great, isn't it Farmer Pickles?" The young farmer smiled. Suddenly his eyes darted towards Lofty. He slowly walked up to him and looked up at him. The blue haired man backed up out of alarm, but looked at Travis.
"Lofty," Travis began, smiling, "I just want to thank you for—"
"For the fun you two had last night?" Muck interrupted, giggling and snorting. Her joke managed to make everyone in the machine team laugh out loud. Lofty covered half of his face in embarrassment with his hand, his face turning completely red.
Travis sighed and attempted to continue what he really wanted to say, "Thank you for the help yesterday..." He said, glaring over at the others who were still chuckling to themselves. The younger farmer then looked back to Lofty and smiled in reassurance [Little did anyone know that Lofty was smiling back, but it was unseen due to him covering his face].
"Anyways, I have to head to Sunflower Valley to plow the fields." The turquoise haired man got back on his tractor, "See you all later!" and he carefully drove away, leaving everyone alone with what they have to do.
After Bob and Farmer Pickles finished talking about how the barn will look like, it was time to get building! When everything was safely removed from the barn, Lofty and Scoop began to demolish the old, wooden shed. Scoop bashed down the old wooden walls with his backhoe's front loader, while Lofty was carefully knocking down pieces with his mobile crane's wrecking ball. Then, Scoop prudently loaded all the fallen materials into Muck's dump-dozer hybrid's tipper. After the old foundations from the barn was out, it was Roley's turn by flattening the ground again to make it smooth and flat for building on again. Before Roley could do this though, Muck called out to Bob, saying that she will be taking the items to the dump. Bob approved,
"Don't forget to go to J.J's for the new supplies!" The builder added, waving at the ginger haired woman.
Just then Scrambler, who was watching this building process with Benny, had an idea. "That's it, Benny!"
The British accented boy turned his head, "What is it?" He asked."Do you remember those two kids named Trix and Skip?"
"Yes, what about them?"
"Well maybe we can go and see if they're not busy so we can do something fun for once!"
Benny's eyes sparkled, "Ooh, Scrambler! That's a great idea!"
And so the two energetic boys left with alongside Muck to J.J.'s supplies yard. When they got there, Muck ordered the supplies for the new barn and Scrambler asked the store manager if it was alright of them to play with the two assistants, Skip and Trix. The Jamaican man laughed and went into his house, fetching the two kids from inside. Trix and Skip were delighted to see Scrambler and Benny once again.
"Hello again!" Trix beamed, "it's been a while, how are you two?"
Scrambler smiled back, "We've been good! But bored, do you want to hang around at Sunflower Valley?"
J.J.'s assistants smiled and obliged, having the approval of their manager. Shortly after, Skip got into his skip-carrier, with Trix tagging along. And with the two other teenagers hopping back onto the ATV, all four were driving away to Sunflower Valley.
"Anyways," J.J. began, looking back at Muck, "I'll be helping you out with the supplies"
Soon, Muck was loaded up with the supplies and headed back to Farmer Pickles' farm. After hours of work, they finally finished the new wooden barn. Farmer Pickles went out of his house to see how they were getting along with the building, and to his blissful surprise, the barn looked good as new! He thanked Bob and his team and offered them all some food, including sandwiches and drinks. As everyone sat down to eat and drink, Dizzy scooted over to Lofty and whispered to him,
"Psst..! How do you think your bOyFrIeNd is doing?" She teased, moving herself away back to Roley. Like before, Lofty did not say anything and kept eating his sandwich.
Meanwhile in Sunflower Valley, where Travis was plowing all of the large fields, he felt somewhat happy to have the content scenery all to himself. He liked the warm spring breeze and the sunset slowly falling over the valley. Once all of the crops was harvested and plowed, he was about to head to Scarecrow Cottage until he passed one of the fields of sunflowers. He applied his tractor's brakes and squinted over at the sunflowers.
"Early bloomers?" He thought to himself, seeing that they looked ready to harvest. He got out of his vehicle and walked towards them, oblivious of his background. Suddenly... a hand grasped his mouth. Travis' body was in a state full of adrenaline; he didn't know what to do. He was so horrified he couldn't move at all. Just then, the person behind him spoke.
"Don't worry Travis," The scratchy yet familiar voice whispered, "I'll take you somewhere... better, old friend." After this person had finished talking, he pinched a pressure point on Travis' neck, making him pass out immediately. Not another sound was heard afterwards.
