This is my first attempt at writing something. Constructive criticism is welcome. Just don't be too harsh LOL.

Harshad turned on the shower and let the hot water cascade down his shoulder. He was not jealous. He was not the type of person to be jealous. Given what had happened in the past, he was very much secure in his relationship and never possessive or insecure. They had immense trust in each other. Hell, he was the one who took the picture.

It was just that people were just too quick to judge. And he felt bad that Jennifer had always gotten the short end of the stick. He felt mad and irritated because the trolling included some of his fans too. How can his fans even think like that when he himself held Jennifer on a high pedestal? He had tremendous respect for her. Why couldn't some of his fans give her that respect as well? First, it was that group picture and then it was that church picture.

He wanted to take her away and hide her from this cruel world. Harshad knew Jennifer was a big girl and could take care of herself but the need to protect her came naturally to him. He couldn't help himself. He really did love her.

This trip to Goa was for them to spend some quality time together, without anybody scrutinizing what they did. Yes, they were celebrities but it did not mean that they couldn't have their privacy. He was never comfortable with sharing his private life with the world. He always felt awkward. Talking about his work was something different. He felt at ease when the topic was just his work and never his personal life.

They wanted to enjoy each other's company and try to forget what had happened to their beloved show. What's done was done and nobody could change that, but they had a right to mourn it. The show was really close to their hearts and they somewhat related to it on a personal level.

He felt two arms wrap around his torso and hug him tightly from behind. His heartbeat rose. But her touch always calmed him down too. Maybe she had an inkling of what he was thinking. She always could read him. In just the two years of officially meeting each other, they had connected on such a deep level. He could always tell whenever she was grumpy, even when she was trying to hide it. Likewise, she could tell when he was disturbed.

Harshad turned around and hugged Jennifer back. The hug being warm and intimate. They stayed like that for a while. When she let go, he looked down at her and smiled.

"I love you," Harshad said in a low voice.

"I love you, too."

Jennifer, not being able to resist, tiptoed and captured his lips within hers. The kiss was soft and slow. Harshad kissed her back, sighing, reveling in the feel of her lips on his.

Pulling apart, he opened his eyes and gazed into her brown orbs. Harshad leaned in and rested his forehead against hers. He could really get used to this. Leaning in again, he gave Jennifer another sweet kiss. He stayed there, still lingering close to her lips.

"Marry me."

She looked at him wide-eyed. Did she hear him right? Were her ears ringing?

"What?"

Yes. He just popped the question. Right here, under the shower, fully naked. He hadn't expected it himself. He had an elaborate plan to propose to her after her trip to Kashmir with her family but screw it, this just felt like the right moment. He loved her. She loved him. He hoped it was enough for her to say yes.

It hadn't been long since they've been seeing each other, a year to be exact, but he was always serious about her. He was never the type to casually date. He was even scared and utterly nervous to make the first move. But when Jennifer had flirted back with him, kind of giving him the green signal, he took the chance and asked her out to dinner.
