“Good luck Hun! Call us soon when you arrive!” Dad yelled from the bathroom, fixing his hair and adjusting his tie.

"Right! Bye mom and dad!"

"(FULL NAME) HOLD ON A MINUTE--" my mom blocked me from the door. I gave her a confused look and she sped off to wherever she ran.

She ran back and fort, placing stuff on my hands such as pepper spray and a pocket knife on my hands.

"Oh. . . I forgot about these, thanks mom-- Mom I think this is enough." I balanced the whole pile of things she placed on my arms.

I tried to stop her but she kept going.

Mom rushed to pack some small necessities she wanted me to bring in a bag and shoved it in my hands.

"W-wha-- mom! I don't need to bring the whole house to college." I said as I watch her pace around the house to spot anything that she could find useful and stuff it inside my bag. (Which is doing it's best to not break.)

I placed the things on my bag, organizing them on the compartments inside my trolley before mom came back with a black plastic box

"And last but not the least, your lunch!" She handed be the plastic box and smiled, but not after giving a small peck on the cheeks.

"Ahaha. . . thanks mom, again. I should go now. The taxi's in front honking for me to get out. Bye!" I rushed outside with two trolleys, a backpack and a duffle bag hanging on my shoulders.

The driver was leaning his back on the car door, with his hands through the window resting in the middle of the steering wheel, ready to honk at me again.

"Sorry for the wait. Needed to pack something for awhile." I let out an awkward laugh but the driver's face remained stoic.

He helped me placed my bags at the back and opened the door at the backseat.

"Uh, me?" I motioned my hands towards the backseat.

"No, me. You'll be driving yourself to college." He replied sarcastically.

I rolled my eyes and settled myself near the window. The driver pulled in and started the engine, the cold air from the AC hit my skin causing goosebumps to appear on my arm.

The car ride was silent. Mostly because it was awkward to talk to the driver after he replied with some snarky reply because I asked him something simple yet something stupid.

But I was  dying of thirst for human communication.

"So hey, what's your name?" I asked from the back.

I mentally face palmed. What the heck was that?

"John."

"Hey John. The name's (Name). Nice to meet you." I said, patting the car seat.

Silence came back and it was getting really awkward. So I decided to start yet another conversation.

"Did you know your immune system kills at least one cell everyday? A cell that would be dangerous if it lived and will soon turn into a cancer cell?"

He hummed, acknowledging me.

I guess its better than being ignored.

"Tell me something I don't know." He said.

"You act to sleep just to actually sleep."
"You can't remember anything after 3 seconds of waking up."

The driver pulled up in front of a large building. "Were here."
