I stared at the large building upon me and gawked in amazement. The building's exterior walls were bricks with a color of beige with slight darker shades due to dust and age.
John finished unloading my bags and left me to enter the building myself. The university itself gave off an 1800's vibe from the outside to the corridors leading to the unknown rooms.
The walls beside me hang multiple frames, starting from grainy black and white photos of past school headmasters to the present, colorized photo of the present one which was surprisingly a woman with brown unruly hair that reached just above her shoulders.
Finally, I reached the door with the name "Mrs. Alice Herringstone" encrypted on the plastic nameplate that was loosely hung right below the door window. I knocked and went in when I was permitted.
"Ah! Good to see you Ms. (L/N). Welcome to Mosely University! I'm glad you decided to enroll here for your first year." Mrs. Herringstone gleamed.
She looked a bit older than she was in the photo. Her supposedly brown unruly hair now has a shade of light grey and it reached above her waist which is clamped back by a large hair clamp.
She shuffled through multiple files and placed one on above her desk with my name on it. "I can see that you were a good student back in highschool. In fact the best one." She said as she skimmed through my files.
"Explains why you got a scholarship from such expensive school."
I hummed and pressed my legs even closer to each other, (If that's even possible now.) And fixed my posture. My bags loitered beside me.
"I'm glad to know you won't be causing us any trouble here. Freshmen's the other year were either influenced greatly by seniors or were just troublemakers from the start. I was getting worried this school will burn down if those kids would continue." She chuckled.
"The stress caused by those kids just made my hair go white in just a day." She mumbled under her breath hoping I didn't hear it.
Too bad I did.
"Anyways. Here are your dormitory keys. In the meantime, you won't be sharing a room with anyone since the last 2 girls that resided there left telling me some silly ghost was hunting them. Those two were probably delusional from sleep deprivation. But I can assure you no ghost is haunting that place and I will find a roommate for you."
She handed me the keys. "The dormitories are just right across the annex."
I jogged around the main building, finding any door that leads outside until I found the right one.
The warm afternoon sun hit my forehead (if you have full bangs, just ignore that.) And headed to the annex where another large building which I assumed was the dormitories was placed.
The heavy bags around my back and shoulders weren't helping out with the situation. The small bags occasionally slips off and I have to pick it up the grass if I couldn't catch it in time again and again.
Until I finally reached the damn building. I sat on the concrete flights and rested for a bit before going up, pulling my trolleys up to the 3rd floor. It was not an easy task and I regret bringing a trolley along.
Finally I reached the 3rd floor. The hallway was decorated with scarlet carpets and the walls were the same design as the main building. Expect the walls were smooth and decorated with gold linings and furnitures that go along the university's theme, which is actually old-timey.
Each doors where made with mahogany. I opened the door and the scent of French vanilla hit my nose.
I swear, I could live here forever.
The room still had the same color scheme. Beige walls, scarlet carpet and dark expensive looking mahogany furnitures.
I dropped my bag and plopped down on my bed. The white comforter was soft with the same vanilla scent. I got off and decided to unpack and get ready to discover more of this room.
