chapter 2

it was about 2 in the morning and I woke up to the door slam and my mom drive away. she had been spending a lot of time with this Roger guy and I didn't like it. it was dark and scary in my house so I called Matt

*on phone*

"Matt. thank goodness you answered"

"of course I would answer for you. what's wrong?"

"I'm home all alone and I dont like it. my mom left and it's really scary here. please come get me"

"I'll be there in two minutes"

"ok thank you"

two minutes seemed like two hours. I sat under my covers and waited when I heard a car pull up. I ran down the stairs and out the door into Matt's arms. "are you ok?" he said with a worried look. "Ya. I am now. can we just leave?"

"of course"

I got in the car and the whole time I looked out the window. Matt looked at me and looked sad. he grabbed my hand and I gave him and assuring look and he smiled. we pulled into his driveway and walked into his house. he brought me to his room and I sat on his bed. he sat next to me. "ally what's wrong you've never done this before."

"I know it's just my mom left with that Roger guy again and I feel like something isn't right and I just done even feel comfortable in my own house" I began to cry. Matt wiped my tears and kissed my forehead. "Im always her for you"

here it goes I love Matt and now I have to say it. I took a gulp. "Matt, I love you"

he looked me in the eyes and said "I love you too" he gave me a big hug and we lay in his bed and fell asleep.

Matt woke me up the next morning and asked if I was feeling better. I nodded and he got dressed and drove me home. my mom was there so he left he gave me a kiss and drove away. I nervously walked in hoping that Roger guy wasn't there. I walked in and my mom angrily turned towards me. "ally! where have you been!?"

"I was at Matt's for the night. where have you been!?"

"ally I'm an adult I can go out when I please!"

"great for you mom, but I'm not so I shouldn't be left all alone knowing that my mom is out probably getting drunk with some stranger!"

"he is not a stranger!"

"well he is to me mom!"

"ally go to your room!"

"no! I'm gonna go find Matt."

"no your not!" my mom turned me around and slapped me. tears formed in my eyes and I began crying but instead of running to my room I ran down the street instead.

*allys moms pov*

did I just do that? I can't believe I did that. my eyes widened and my jaw dropped I clenched my hand into a fist and fell to the ground and began to cry. I knew ally wasn't coming home tonight. not after all this.

*allys pov*

I was going to call Matt but instead I called Kate.

"hello?"

I couldnt even get word out just tiny sobs and tears.

"hello? ally? are you ok? ally! where are you I'm coming."

I managed to say one sentence "at the park on the corner of my street."

"I'll be there!"

she hung up.

Kate got her and ran to me she got me up and gave me a big hug. we got into her car and drove to her house. I sat on her bed and explained everything. it was so hard to tell the story without crying. she gave me another hug. "is it ok if I call Matt to come. he kinda needs to know"

"Ya totally"

I called Matt.

"hello"

"hey"

"Oh hey"

"um Matt do you think you can come to Kate's house? I have something important to tell you"

"ally are you ok?"

"um not really" I started to cry so i bit my hand to keep from him hearing

"it's ok im coming right now."

"ok"

"ally?"

"yeah?"

"I love you."

"I love you too."

we hung up and I put the phone to my chest and closed my eyes.

moments later Matt was knocking at the door. I went to the door and opened it. Matt quickly gave me a big hug.

"ally what's the matter?"

I looked at Kate and stepped outside. I shut the door and sat Matt down on the bench in her yard. I explained everything to Matt and began to cry again. Matt wiped my tears and said "its ok princess. I'm here for you" I smiled and kissed him with his cheeks in my hands. we walked in and Kate told us that lance was coming over. I smiled and sat down with Matt next to me. I grabbed his hand and he lightly kissed it. I smiled and rested my head in his shoulder.

it was the next morning and I woke up next to Kate on her bed. she was awake in her phone. "good morning" she said. "morning. what time is it?"

"almost 11"

"I better get home. I gotta try and talk this through with my mom"

"ok tell me how it goes"

"ok"

at my house I walked in to an empty living room. I went up stairs and into my room. I looked out my window and when I turned around my mom was awkwardly standing in the door way. "uh hi" I said.

"hi honey"

"mom I'm so-" she cut me off

"don't even apologize. I'm sorry ally. I shouldn't have done that. it was rude and I'm sorry."

"it's ok mom"

we both smiled and I ran to give her a hug. then from behing her was a tall dark figure. It was Roger. I stopped our hug and just glared at him.

"oh um ally we have something to tell you."

"yeah?"

"um me and Roger are engaged" my eyes widened and I looked at the floor. I began to breathe hard and sweat. my mom touched my shoulder and asked if I was ok. "I just need some time alone please" they both left the room and I fell to the ground. I felt sick to my stomach.

it was the next morning and I got up and went to the kitchen. Roger was standing there. he told me my mom had gone to work and it was just us. I said ok and told him I was going to Matt's. "your not going anywhere" he replied. I back up in fright as he inched toward me
