Summer!

Boardwalk Cafe

I wake up to the radiant sun shining through my dusty window. I hear my phone beep on my bedside table. I check and see that it's a text from Kyle, it says "Hey Rae, it's Kyle from the beach yesterday. Do you wanna grab something from the boardwalk cafe?".
I replied to his text saying "Would love to meet you, see you at around 1pm?"
He replied about a minute later saying "OK, see you there!"

I got changed into my side-split grey tank top, my high waisted shorts and paired my outfit with some black studded heels. I quickly brushed my hair and chucked it up into a bun, I put a little bit of makeup on and went with a nude lipstick and smokey eye. I glanced at my phone and saw that it was midday so I started gathering my things to get ready to leave. I left soon after and made my way down to the cafe, the sun was shining brightly on me and the streets were buzzing with people making there way down to the beach. I'm just outside the cafe when Kyle comes around the corner and opens the door for me like a gentlemen.
"Hello there Rae!" Said Kyle
"Hey Kyle!" I said
"How are you today?" Asked Kyle
"I'm great thanks, how about you?" I responded
"Well I am happy to be here with you." He replied
"You are so cheesy sometimes!" I said back to Kyle
We started talking about many things from our favourite colours and bands to what subjects we took at high school. I found out that Kyle took Statistics, Biology, Art, Chemistry and English, his favourite colour is blue, he is really into Indie and Rock bands and to round it all of, he said to me
"I also think I am falling for you"
It was so sweet and he saw me with a huge grin on my face. I found out that we both had common interests, I liked blue, he liked blue, I took stats and art, he took stats and art, I like indie and he likes indie. He was... Perfect! As I stared into his luscious blue eyes, I thought I heard someone calling out my name but I quickly pushed it aside. Kyle started to lean towards me, so much passion in his eyes when suddenly,
"Hey Rae!" shouted a whole bunch of people most of whom I knew
Kyle and I broke out of trance and I could tell that he knew a couple of people but not many. Most of them were my friends from Uni that I hadn't caught up with in a while, they were all with their boyfriends and I literally mean ALL of them.
"Hey guys!" I yelled back with ecstasy, it was great to see them all again
"Who is this?" questioned Stella, pointing towards Kyle
"This is my friend Kyle" I responded, I looked over at Kyle and he appeared confused but I wasn't sure why.
"Are you two together?" someone asked.
"No, we aren't, we were just hanging out together" I saw Kyle look up at me briefly, he didn't seem as happy as he did a moment ago but I quickly brushed it off my mind
"Do you two 'friends' wanna come down to the beach with us for a bit?" my friend Rachel queried
"Okay" I replied, I glanced over at Kyle and he nodded so we went of with the others down to the beach. It was another smoldering hot summer's day and the water looked crystal clear on the surface. I had my bikini on underneath my clothes because I figured that I would probably end up at the beach during some point today.
"Wanna come down to the water?" Stella shouted at me.
"Yep! Let me just get out of my clothes" I retorted in Stella's direction
Quick as a flash I got out of my casual clothes. I think I saw Kyle looking at me once or twice which made me grin, I didn't say anything to him though. I chucked my heels of and put them by my bag, I also undid my hair so that it was flowing down my back in the burning sun. I was about to run off when I asked Kyle
"Are you going to come down to the water?"
"I didn't bring any shorts" Kyle replied
"Oh, would you like me to wait here with you?" I asked, Kyle paused for a moment then responded
"No it's okay, go down to the beach and enjoy yourself" I still felt unsure whether I should stay or not but I just agreed with what he said and ran off towards the waters edge.
"I won't be too long!" I yelled to Kyle, I swear that he was checking me out as I ran off but I didn't mind. I was relaxing in the water for about 20 minutes but I soon got tired because all my friends were with their boyfriends and we weren't really doing anything, well I wasn't anyway so I got out of the water and went back over to where I thought I left my things. I couldn't see any of my belongings or Kyle anywhere either and I though to myself 'Great, when I finally see a guy I like he takes my things'. I then heard someone shout out my name, I was looking around for the voice's owner and saw Kyle siting underneath a tree with my belongings, I wandered over to him and he said to me
"I moved over here because the sun was really hot, especially in this outfit" he responded, pointing to his outfit
"I got out of the water because nobody were really doing anything and I was really bored" I told Kyle
"Do you wanna go for aaa little walk?" I suggested to Kyle
"Whereabouts?" he questioned
"I don't know, lets just see where our feet take us" I responded, He seemed intrigued and decided he would come. We ended up just going for a walk along the beach and then turned back around to head back again, we stopped for a quick ice cream to help cool us down as we were both really hot. Slowly the sun was going down but it seemed to be trying to shine now more than ever. We eventually both got to where we were to begin with. Most of my friends were still there and just hugging their boyfriends.
"I'm really hungry" Marissa stated, there were a whole bunch of "Me too!" and "Same here!" going around so eventually someone decided that we should all go and get fish and chips from down the road. We ordered our mass bulk of food and took it over to a group of picnic tables where everyone ate and shared stories and plans about what they were going to do for the summer. It was about 6pm when everyone started dispersing. The few people left put the newspapers in the bins then dawdled of holding each other in their arms. Kyle and I started to leave when he offered to drive me home. I said yes to him and we carried on making our way to his car. Kyle opened the door for me and I thanked him. He then headed off towards my house. We got there about 2 minutes later.
"Thanks again for the ride" I said to Kyle
"Anytime" He responded with a smirk. We looked at each other for a brief moment before he leaned forward and gave me a kiss on the lips. I didn't stop him so I must have enjoyed I thought to myself. Kyle then turned around and walked off towards his car. I was grinning from ear to ear at what had just happened. I closed my door and went up to my room. I had a lot to think about but I decided that I would leave all that thinking until tomorrow.
