Entry #3
They say that twins have ‘twin telepathy’, wouldn’t it be the same for triplets? Sometimes
I really wonder if Jake genuinely likes me or if he is just pretending to be the ‘perfect captain’ to get the scholarship into the university.Ever since the incident between Lohen and Danfrod, the Football team’s lunch table has been missing a particular senior star player. Until now, Danfrod has been keeping his mouth shut about what he had done to anger the second Lohen which led to a rising tension between the Senior players who were on Brannon’s side and the Freshmen players who held their pride high for Danfrod.
“Jake, did Brannon tell you what’s going on?” Ace Kingston, a fellow Senior player pulled Jake out from the lunch table to ask him discreetly, he had been both brothers’ best mate since middle school yet now Brannon was not even talking to him, he barely even sees Brannon along the hallways to class.
“Ace, I’d be honest with you, Brannon is avoiding me at home as well.” Jake replied lowly, not wanting the Freshmen to overhear them, because he knew that if Danfrod and friends had heard him, they’d be even more smug than they already were.
“But you guys had never brought the team matters home.” Ace raised his voice, slightly anxious, he knew himself, no matter how long Ace and Brannon had known each other, the latter had always been the mysterious one, seemingly mischievous and easy to read on the outside yet was the exact opposite.
Jake knew that this time around, both sides were not willing to compromise with each other, Brannon was as stubborn as a bull when he put his feet down on a decision, even Avery wouldn’t be able to change his mind.
“This can’t go on mate, you need to find him.” Jake knew that he could see him in homeroom but their next homeroom period was a few days after, the eldest Lohen couldn’t wait longer. He was definitely comparable to Brannon when it comes to his streak of stubborness as though it runs through their bloodstream, but he knows this time, he had to give in.
“I know where he is.” Jake glance over to the direction of the cafeteria’s exit before shoving his trays into Ace’s hands knowing that Ace would not bear grudges over this small gesture. Jake ran towards the other end of the school building, he was well-familiar with this area although he barely comes and it was because of Avery.
Without even knocking, Jake slammed open the grey doors, ignoring the rest of the people in the room, he marched straight towards the desk at the corner where there were two figures. One was lying on the sofa twirling the football in his hands while the other was on the desk beside typing away on the laptop.
Upon seeing her brother, Avery gave a friendly wave, knowing that the two strong-headed males were at odds without knowing the reason. She assumed that they had another banter over the smallest things like brothers usually do. Whereas, Brannon did not even acknowledge Jake’s presence as he continued twirling the football in his hands, throwing it in the air before catching it again.
“Let’s have a chat.” Jake commanded, using the voice that he always puts on when he was portraying his authority as the eldest.
“Avery, please tell Captain Lohen that we do not have anything to chat about right now.” Brannon scowled purposefully emphasising on his title.
Avery helplessly shrugged towards Jake, stopping her typing work upon realising that there was a possibility that they were going to argue in this very room, she signalled for her team to leave the room for lunch to avoid the situation from blowing up. She knew that they were her fellow trusted members but she did not want to take any risk in having the following day's school newsletter headlines to be about the two people she cared about the most, even worse, if their coach gets a whiff of this, it would affect their team positions.
