Loki started off by telling us that we were not to interupt him at any point in his explanation. We agreed since now we were really interested as to what he was going to say.

He explained his relationship with his father, mother and brother. Basically his mother was that only one he really trusted and loved. He told us about what happened when his brother got exciled, his father getting ill, him trying to take over the throne.

Then he continued onto the attack on New York;

"Holy shit! Are you telling me that actually happened?" Alex spoke my thoughts.

"Well of course it happened!"

"Oh well we all thought it was made up but the magazines. So does that mean Captain America etc. are also real?!" Alex said.

"Please don't encourage her! She would leave me in a split second for Captain America."

"They all would." Loki said sourly. He talked about the avengers and how they fought. His army, then the inevitable arrest in Asgard. That brought us pretty much up to date.

"So all in all, your a fucking psychopath and I'm letting you stay in my spare room?"

"How dare you speak to-"

"Yeah alright chill! Don't go all New York on us! We're too English for that shit."

"Wait a minute, wait, did you actually do that," Alex mimicked a wurring noise, "Eye ball thing in Germany?" Loki smirked and nodded. "And you are going to let this guy work with children!" Alex laughed out loud; I pushed her gently.

"No no, in all seriousness, is my girlfriend safe with you living here?" Alex asked.

"I promise no harm shall come to either of you from my hand. However, although you two might not know who I am, there are some people out there who want me dead, I can not promise they won't hurt you to get to me."

Alex rubbed my shoulder and headed upstairs. Loki watched as I refilled our drinks.

"I'm not going to ask you to change, or say you regret everything you've ever done, because that's just unrealistic. What I want is proof that what you just said was true, and that you understand that I need your word that you do promise not to hurt anyone."

Loki slowed his breathing and slowly, a blue stain seeped through his skin like a disease, until his body was cool as Ice and blue as frostbite. When in his full Jotun form you could see his most vulnerable state. With closed fists and tense muscles, without looking into his eyes you could have mistaken him for the strongest man on earth. But his red eyes showed his nerves, his fear.

"Stop it."

"Stop what?"

"That! You're analysing me! Your eyes glaze over, as though your vacant, when you are trying to work a person out, so untrusting."

"Yeah! I'm the one analysing others" I said. "I will let you stay, I will help you find a job. But remember this God, you are here under my rules, you shall not threaten me in my house nor will you act violently towards me or anyone else for that matter. You want to get home, and to do that you need to rebuild your life correct? I am giving you that opportunity, but I will take it away if I need to understand?"

"Yes."

"Okay then," I sighed and stood up, Loki followed my lead, "goodnight Asgardian."

"Goodnight Midgardian."
