He never expected that last one to happen, but yet something happened and Mirabelle Allan was back and alive to spend out her life with him. She, of course, had some different things (like her powers) due to the stones themselves. But all Peter cared about was the fact that he had her back.

And soon enough a relationship blossomed between the two, as to have been expected. And for each major significant change or challenge one of them wrote a letter to the other. Telling them everything they found to be interesting and or needed in that situation.

All starting with the two words, Dear Beloved.
