it was a busy, yet cold afternoon. heechul was taking a walk around the city's streets; not until he saw a nearby coffee shop which captured his eye, namely, spiced eclipse. he entered the shop, and it had a very calming atmosphere. some students were working on their laptops while drinking their coffee, some were just simply enjoying. he went in line to order something, since he needed an energy boost. while he was in line, his phone in his pocket vibrated. he took out his phone and viewed the notification.

xxteukxx: where are you??? i thought you'd be here by 2!!!

heechul checked the time on his phone, it was already 2:12. he sighed, and then replied back.

kimheenim: 15 minutes more ::) the coffee here smells good

"sir?" he slightly got surprised as he heard the female voice, and looked up at the girl with the ponytail, her bangs covering her forehead. she was holding a piece of paper and the other with a pen, about to write his order. he kept his phone and put it on his brown coat's pocket; while he keeps his hand in there. "welcome to spiced eclipse! please state your order." she says, greeting him with a smile. before he says anything, he takes a glance at her nameplate. 

'안희연'

her name looked familiar. after a few seconds, he shook his head and finally ordered. "a caramel macchiato please?" he stated, as she writes his order down. "anything else, sir?" she asks while writing, then smiling lightly looking at him. he shook his head, meaning that there was nothing else. "alright then. kindly wait for your caramel macchiato to be served at the counter right there." she pointed at the counter, as his eyes followed the direction of what she was pointing at. "have a good day, sir. enjoy your coffee!" they bowed slightly at each other, as she proceeds to the next customer. he looked down and chuckled lightly then took his phone out again, viewing leeteuk's messages.

he was now in front of the counter, first in line. he kept his phone again, looking around the cafe. after 2-3 minutes, he finally got his caramel macchiato and paid for it, as he goes to a table and places his macchiato and phone, sitting there. before he could drink it, he brought his polaroid camera out and turned it on, as he points it to the caramel macchiato and clicks the shutter. the polaroid gets printed out, and he takes it, letting the picture show. but then,

a gunshot gets heard.

everyone in the cafe screams, and puts their hands on top of their head, including heechul. some were still standing but some were crouching down. three men, with a black mask and a black coat along with black gloves broke in with guns in their hands. the man in front grabbed someone near them;

which was the girl in the ponytail who took heechul's order.

the man in black enclosed her with his right arm, while the other had a gun pointing on her temple. the girl looked like she accepted her fate, since she couldn't do anything. heechul was in shock, since this kind of event doesn't happen normally. "if one of you calls the police or comes closer, she's gonna be k—"

time froze.

heechul was holding his hand up since that's how he froze time. everything froze. except one thing.

"hold the fuck up—"

someone spoke. and he was surprised about it.

it was her.

ahn heeyeon, the girl who took his order.

after a few seconds, he realized what had been going on. "can you please tell me what's going o—"

"escape now, talk later. we only have 5 minutes." he ran up to her and tried to get her out of the man who enclosed her. she was still shocked, since she was able to move AND he was able to freeze time.

once she got out, heechul held her hand to make her safe. he wasn't a superhero or anything; he could just freeze time.

4 minutes left.

"do you have a fire alarm?" he asked her, quickly. she nodded and pointed to the door, where it said "authorized personnel only", which was the kitchen, and heechul ran and entered it, still holding heeyeon's hand. "oh my god, i swear to god if i trip and get a bruise im blaming you."

"blame me? i'll leave you here and let go of your hand if you want to." he answered, going to the fire alarm.

3 minutes left.

"why are you even holding my hand?" she asked, wrinkling her eyebrows looking at him opening the fire alarm container, still confused about the situation.

"because i need to protect you!" he yelled out, looking at her. after he did that, heeyeon's expression looked scared. "i...fuck. okay i'm sorry—" "it's alright, go on, save the world..?"

heechul wrinkled his eyebrows glancing at her, lost.

2 minutes left.

"oh sh—" he noticed that there were people in the kitchen, and then he noticed heeyeon who was still confused about the situation. "okay so, heeyeon, is that right?"

"call me hani i guess?"

"alright, hani, stay here. if time goes on again, press the fire alarm. i'm going to drag the person who captured you outside." he said, looking at her. he let go of her hand and then she looked at him, as he runs to the exit of the room. "h-hey! uh.." she yelled out, as heechul turned around. "yeah?"

"what's your name?"

"kim heechul."

"heechul, alright, got it, thanks for saving me!"

"i—" he chuckled softly. "you're welcome i guess."

1 minute left.

he dashed to the cafe's door and kicked the man who captured hani; which caused the body to fall. the other two men, however, heechul just took their guns and the ones in their pockets. afterwards he dashed outside, and saw the police cars not moving, which indicated that they were going on their way.

time continued, and heeyeon instantly pressed the fire alarm. the screams continued, as the man was confused on how he was on the ground. heechul quickly went to his seat, and pretended he was panicking.
after a few seconds, police came and arrested the three. heeyeon came out of the kitchen as heechul grabbed her wrist, taking her outside.

"okay, tell me what the fuck just happened." she asked.

he then looked at his watch on his left wrist. 2:45.

he was late to his meeting, but it was the start of something new.
