CHAPTER FIVE: THE EYES BELIEVE WHAT THEY SEE!

RIFF'S TOWN; 1990,

THE CEMETERY ON WEST WICCAN STREET

A donkey that carries gold is still just a donkey— as such, min yoongi was just as crazy as any lunatic thrown into a mental hospital. Namjoon emphasizes the crazy because yoongi sounded just like that, crazy; insane in the membrane, and be that as it may, making a deal with him would surely be like making a deal with the devil.

“Help me get back at the guys who killed me,” sounded easy enough, right? Wrong. Namjoon figured it'd be like that, a calm wind on a chilly morning. He was, as always, wrong. Yoongi not only wanted him to help get back at the guys who killed him, but he wanted Namjoon to help him get to the afterlife.

You see, namjoon doesn't have a problem with religious people. He believes everyone has a right to their own beliefs, as long as he's not expected to put fate into them as well. Let's rewind a bit.

“So about that deal. Help me pass into the afterlife,"Yoongi beckons eagerly, hands flailing around and about in rapid motions, " I heard from another floater that if you want to pass into the afterlife you have to complete some unnecessary task.” The shorter continues, brown irises gliding across the room, it reminded Namjoon of a Kit-Cat clock— he doesn't answer though, finding the shorter to be more dumb than before.

“Listen, yoongi, if that's even your real name, I'm tired and have school tomorrow, I just had my ass beat not too long ago actually, so I'd like to rest–” he's promptly cut off by the shorter, lips sealing themselves shut when he catches a small flicker of anger dancing beneath the Coffee brown eyes of yoongi's.

“No, you listen, namjoon, I've been stuck in the inbetween for too long, I'm losing myself man, I have to complete the task—” Yoongi ushers out in a panic, a rabid dog on a chase.  “Inbetween? Floaters? What the fuck are you on dude?” Namjoon questions amused, he's never met a guy who's a looney, guess it was bound to happen sooner or later.

“The inbetween is a place where the dead stay until the task they have are finished, and floaters are what we call each other,” yoongi explains— annoyance was clear on his face, a blind person would be able to see it from a six miles away, “just think about it okay?” Yoongi finishes whilst walking toward the wall next to the window, “what's in it for me, huh?” Namjoon sighs out, head falling toward his cushioned pillow. He brings his long arms up above his head and stretches.

“I can stop the other ghost from noticing you and teach you how to differentiate between humans and floaters,” the cat-like boy offers, and namjoon thinks he's going crazy for almost taking up that offer He can't see ghosts. Yoongi isn't a ghost, just some pothead. He can't see ghosts. He can't. Or maybe he can. Maybe he isn't a freakshow. Maybe he isn't crazy.
