Jellal x Reader ~ Stealing Her Heart

Frantic footsteps and loud yelling could be heard throughout the forest, disturbing the once peaceful atmosphere. Staying silent and still, you kept a tight grip around the trunk of a tall tree as you were stood on a branch watching the event unfold. 

"Where is she? Hurry up and find her!" A man, who you guessed would probably be the commander, barked at the other soldiers.

"Sir, we've been searching for the thief for more than a few hours now in this forest. Maybe she had already reached a nearby town." One of his subordinates reported. The commander gave him a cold glare, making the soldier nervously shiver. 

"How could one girl possibly escape from an army of trained soldiers?" The commander scowled. He turned to the group of soldiers that began to line up before him and said, "Get on your horses. We will head to the nearest town, east from here. When we get there, make sure to search every single building. We can't let this thief run away from us again." They all nodded, obediently following orders and headed out of the forest. 

For a few minutes, you waited and kept a look out for any signs that there were still some soldiers lurking about. However, when you were met with the usual silence from the forest, you decided that it was safe to come down from the tree.

"Hehe, dumbasses." you chuckled to yourself as you threw a small bag full of gold and silver jewellery. 

From the corner of your eyes, you caught a glimpse of a poster that was stuck onto a tree. It read:

WANTED
(Y/F/N)
A CUNNING THIEF
1.5 MILLION JEWELS WILL BE GIVEN AS A REWARD
TO THOSE WHO MANAGE TO CAPTURE HER

And underneath the words was a blurry picture of you. Your eyes widen at the reward that they were willing to give. 1.5 million! That's a lot of money although, I do feel like I should be worth more than that. With a shrug of your shoulders, you ripped off the poster, scrunched it up, and threw it somewhere behind you.

"With this bounty on your head, you should be careful on what you do from now on." A voice spoke out, causing you to turn towards the direction of the sound. 

In front of you stood a man who had blue hair and a strange mark around his right eye. You have to admit, he looked quite attractive. On either side of him stood two girls, one had pink hair and the other had dark hair.

"So, are you all here to try and get the reward?" You asked with a playful smirk on your lips. "You do know that you're going to have to catch me first before that can happen." 

"No, we didn't come here for that reason, (y/n)." He replied. You raised an eyebrow, urging him to continue his speech. "My name is Jellal. This is Meredy," he gestured to the pink haired girl, "And this is Ultear," then to the black haired one. "We would like you to join our guild, Crime Sorcière."

Without a single thought, you crossed your arms and casually replied, "No thanks." Jellal seemed shocked by your quick answer, probably not expecting you to reject his request.

"Wait a minute, do you even know what our guild does?" Ultear questioned.

"Yeah, I've heard of Crime Socière. You guys are an independent guild whose aims are to destroy dark guilds." You responded.

"So, how can you ignore such an important request? With your help, we can try to put an end to all the crimes that dark guilds commit. Also, don't you want to atone for the crimes you have committed?" Ultear was trying her hardest to convince you to join the guild.

"I've heard about your incredible skills, you are a great mage (y/n). Why not try using your magic for good?" Jellal suggested, hoping for you to change your mind.
