Greetings, I am back with another chapter. Enjoy. :D
----"Excuse me. Sir...Are you okay?" Baoyu's eyes fluttered open, his ear twitching at the sound of the faint, youthful voice. Baoyu sat up, rubbed his eyes before welcoming them with the rising sun. In front of him was a teenaged boy, who looked to be thirteen, crouched down in front of him. The former concubine mumbled a confused huh while trying to avoid the piercing gaze of the sun.
After realizing that the beauty was still in a daze from his nap, the young boy huffed out in frustration before raising his voice a bit, "EXCUSE ME, ARE YOU OKAY!" Though this time, his outburst was much less of an inquiry.
Baoyu jolted awake, his weary eyes flickering across the foreign space. Settling on the juvenile just moments later. The boy had pleasant brown eyes the color of dark oolong tea, slimed into an almost mischievous point. His eyelashes were oddly pale compared to his dark, fluffy hair. His bushy brows furrowed, resting above his surreal hues. His sun kissed skin that was smooth to the touch. But even with such features, the plentiful amount of scars didn't go unnoticed.
The boy, now realizing that he has Baoyu's attention, repeated his question, "Are you okay?"
Baoyu stood up and dusted off his clothing. "Uh yes, But I do need some assistance. Would you happen to know where the nearest inn is?" He asked, scooping up his bag brimming with jewels and very little clothing. "I've merely arrived from someplace deep in the South. Therefore, I could use some help."
A brilliant smile lit up the boy's face much like the sun itself. The boy's frustration had perished within a blink of an eye, instead replaced with sweet contentment. "Of course I do! There's a ton of 'em in my town. They have the best inns you'll ever see!" He boasted, "Follow me, it shouldn't be too far from here!" The teenager grabbed Baoyu's hand before setting off for his home.
-
How long had they been walking? Ten minutes...twenty minutes? Far too long without a break. Baoyu suddenly ceased his walking, causing the young boy to jerk back and glare at the man with a scowl on his lips. "What's wrong?" He inquired, a look of concern and confusion taking over his face. But before responding, Baoyu sat down in front of a random tree.
"...How much longer do we need to walk?" He huffed out, trying to steady his breathing. Although he doesn't mind traveling so far because the farther he is from the palace, the better, Baoyu is still pregnant and his body has little to no stamina. What an annoying flaw to have. How weak can this body be?
"Hmm, About 10 minutes I'd say." The teen answered, Kneeling next to the older male. "But what's wrong with ya'? Are ya' sick?" One could tell that the boy had a heart of gold. To ask about a stranger's well-being, interested the former concubine.
The former concubine shook his head. "I'm fine. It's just...I'm currently expecting and my body is very weak, though I'm not that far along."
"So you're gonna' have a baby? Really!?" The young boy's booming voice consumed the area as he stared at the older man with wide eyes. "Then what are you doing out here? Where's your husband?" he asked.
"He's not around," Baoyu responded flatly.
"...Oh, I'm sorry for mentioning it," The teen apologized, his cheeks dusting a soft rouge. "Oi, I never got your name; what is it? Mine's Fenhua; It means youthful and energetic," He said with a slight arrogance to him.
