Ash POV:
It was a hot day in March when I received the news, my mum used a sombre and empathetic tone when speaking. "Ashley dear" she sobbed, "you're father's dead"...I threw the phone across the room in rage and curled up into a ball, I didn't stop crying for the next four days. Me and my dad were extremely close and I never got to say goodbye. I couldn't believe that he was gone, I would never talk to my dad again...
The 1st June came around and I was still in a melancholy state, I hadn't recovered at all. I ran downstairs to the bathroom and took a long hard stare in the mirror, I couldn't take it anymore. I reached into the cupboard and took out four tablets. I knew this overdose would kill me, but, what else could I do? The tablets drew closer to my mouth when I began to regret my decision. "Who would look after my mum" I thought "she's bound to be in a state of depression over this". Maybe I wasn't thinking straight. Before I could talk myself out of it, I instantaneously threw the tablets into my mouth...
My phone begun to ring as I abruptly spat out the tablets and rushed over to the table where my phone lay. I presumed it was my mother but the number was unrecognisable, "Hello" chirped a warming voice as I instantly greeted her in a friendly manner, she begun with possibly the best words that I would ever hear in my entire life! "Well, we've been considering a veriaty of people but we feel that you're the perfect choice", "for what" I rushed, my heart was beating, I didn't know what was coming next.
