(Idk what to put here XD)

School started in a week, so mom and I decided to go shopping. I wasn't a huge fan of the idea, but I loved spending time with mom, so I'd bare through it. We decided to go the the small shopping center that sat near the center of our new city, seeing as it was the best place to shop, and it gave us many good options to choose from.
We entered one of my favorite stores, Spencer's, and I instantly went to look at the backpacks and jewelry. I made sure to steer clear of the back of the store, the 'No no zone' as I call it. It wasn't because my mom would be mad or bothered, but more the fact that I would. Mom honestly didn't care, which was one of the things I liked about it being just her and I. She was chill when we hung out, and was the kind of mom that would act more like a teenager herself with you.
After going to a couple more stores, we stopped to eat, bags piled together beside our table and jewelry that was more casual already decorating us. Mom has a bracelet that said some weird statement about 'Coolest mom ever' or something, and a mood ring in the shape of a dolphin. The ring had a silver band and was a light shade of pink mixed with purple. Mom seemed to like it a lot, as she kept glancing down at it and smiling. I, on the other hand, only had a necklace that held a small drop of a calming scent that smelled of cinnamon and vanilla. I LOVED the scent, partially why I bought the necklace, and the other part being that it helped me calm down from my nervousness about the new school year.
After about another hour of shopping, we finally went home, the trunk and partial part of the backseat heavy with shopping bags and school supplies. I laid in my bed, my new clothes and other new belongings put away in their respected places and my arms wrapped around a wild dog stuffed animal that I got in my most recent trip to the Zoo.
Drifting off to sleep, the last thing I remember thinking about was what my new school would be like, and how quickly I'd be able to find a friend group, or at least a friend, that would make me feel more at home.

ONE WEEK LATER
"Anrella, wake up. You have school today. C'mon, get dressed." I groaned as mom's sweet but firm voice partially drifted, partially slammed, through my door. Wiping drool away from the corner of my mouth, I sat up and stretched, groaning louder.
I stood up and walked over to my closet, throwing on a simple but comfy outfit and brushing my short dirty blonde hair into its normal part, most of it falling to the left side of my face and framing my cheek. I put a drop of essence in my necklace, taking in a deep breath of the calming scent, before grabbing my backpack, shoes, and socks, and walking out of my room.
Mom had breakfast all set out, and as we ate, she expressed her joy about me making new friends. I smiled and, when I finished, washed my dishes before putting on my socks and shoes. Mom cleaned her dishes and kissed my forehead, sending me off to the bus stop with loving words.
I stood at the but stop, my heart racing, and wondered what my first day would be like. As the bus pulled to a stop in front of me, I took a shaky breath and stepped on, greeting the bus driver and sitting in an empty seat behind him. God, let's hope this all goes well I thought to myself, staring out of the window, nervousness sending butterflies cascading into my stomach.
