First Summer of Us

Chapter 5

Amber's POV:

My last day of being grounded. Sofia's not coming today though, she's going on ANOTHER date with Louis! I swear, those two have become like Turk and Carla off my Favourite show, Scrubs.

It's mid afternoon and I'm sitting on my bed, earphones in, listening to Demi Lovato's latest album and reading the hunger games.

'Cato's spear hurtles past my head and lodges into the tree next to my head.' I read. Just at that exact moment, a bang comes from my window. Crap! What was that? I freeze, still in the hunger games state of mind. I walk over to me window, unsure of what will be there. I look down to see Niall there. He's holding pebbles. Haha, he must have been throwing them at my window to get my attention! I open my window and he's whispering something to me.

"I'm two stories up, smart guy. Can't hear you!" I say down at him. He stops whispering and starts trying to act out what he wants to tell me. What on earth? I don't know sign language, but I don't think dancing around like a monkey is a proper form of communication. "you can just come up, you know." I say laughing at his funny signals. I see him hurry off and soon, there's the doorbell. I hear my mum answer and Niall running up the stairs. "hey!" he says walking into my room. "hey Niall." I say and pat the bed next to me. Niall sits down and whispers "let's sneak out!". "what?!" I say. "sneak out! We could go see a movie or something! Whatever you want!" he's so excited. "Niall, I can't!" I say "and anyway, it's only tomorrow until I can go without sneaking out!" I say. "ok." he sighs and looks at me with puppy dog eyes. "no!" I say about to laugh. "ok ok!". He says. He spots my copy of Hunger Games on my bed and picks it up. "I know what happens at the end!" he says, with a devilish grin. "don't you dare!" I squeal and jump on him wrestling it out of his hands.

Niall's POV:

I spend the rest of the afternoon sitting next to amber on her bed, just talking. Her foots feeling better and the doctors said it might heal sooner than they originally thought. We talk about music. She likes everything except country and western, says it makes her ears hurt! Hahaha!
 

Amber's POV:

We're just talking about all sorts of stuff when Niall says. "so.. What's happening with us?". "Um.. About that kiss the other day.." I start. "you didn't.. Like it?" he says. "no! It's just.. I don't know if I feel that way. About you."
