It was friday, a week since we had been practicing together. We had our differences, don't get me wrong, we had the most conflicting personalities in the world and he as a matter of fact was the most insufferable boy I've ever met. But we had a system, no personal business while practicing ever. I had no business in his personal life, and as fucked up as mine was I appreciated that he never asked questions about mine either.
" Rhea, I need you to come down here." I heard my aunt call out. I was out on the terrace, the terrace of this small duplex home was my sanctuary. It was an escape from the suffocation I felt in this house. I started down the stairs and saw my aunt impatiently tapping her foot waiting for me. " Ji Chachi?" I asked her politely.
" I have a party to go to at Anita aunties so I want to you to go pick up Arnav from his school and drop him off at his arts class today. " She practically demanded. " I'm sorry chachi, I can't I have practice at four today. I would be late if I did that and Arnav is used to you picking him up from school anyway." I reasoned.
" I didn't ask you a question you ungrateful brat, living off your uncle's income. The least you can do is help us around the house." she shouted at me I stayed silent. " And this tennis obsession your father handed to you, even if your uncle might want to you better get it through your head that we are not going to bare the costs of this ridiculously expensive hobby you have. Had you put your brains to use in school maybe you would've gotten a scholarship. Now go pick him up from school at four ." She ordered.
" I will. and Do not drag my father into this, you could never be half the amazing human that he was." I said as I stormed out of the room I was sure this wasn't the end of the argument. I'll here about it soon enough again, it was never ending, nothing I did was ever good enough to get a kind word out of her. Tears welling up in my eyes. I grabbed my tennis kit and my phone as I walked out of the house towards my cousins school. I wish my parents had been here for me.I sighed.
By the time I dropped my cousin off at his arts class it was already four thirty, and my luck, being the shitty thing that it was, my phone had already died. I rushed home so that I could at least inform Vedant that I'd be late. As I turned around the corner towards my house, I spotted a very familiar black thar outside my house. This is wrong, this is so wrong, I started panicking. It was Vedant's. He couldn't be here. He shouldn't be here.
I started running towards the house. He was not in the car. fuck. I opened the gate and saw him standing at the front door. I felt like all the blood had left my body, If chachi was still at home, I'm dead meat.
"Vedant! What the hell are you doing here?" I whisper shouted at him as I approached the front door. I cou
