"Nathaniel Richivald, we're leaving! Tell Bess to tie your tie." Mrs. Richivald yelled from the bottom of the elaborate maroon staircase.
'' Coming, mother." he accentuated the word mother as he adjusted his tie. The suit clung to him desperately in the June heat that smoldered the citizens of Long Island. Nate ran a hand through his dirty blond hair. He didn't bother arguing with his stern parents, whom insisted he at least try to befriend Lauren Burke.
The family stepped out into the blazing sun, where a limo was waiting for them. They got in, enjoying the coolness of the vehicle. They sat in silence, until they pulled up into the driveway. The Burkes lived in a mansion, with marble steps, pillars and large windows. Beautiful plants were scattered on the perfectly cut green lawn. Nate was sort of nervous, even though he's been with countless girls. He kept adjusting the cuffs on his dress shirt, and running a hand through his hair. The Burkes were waiting on the large stairs. Nate noticed Lauren standing tall next to her parents. She resembled her mother, with the same blonde hair, and large lips. She had her dad's blue eyes. He thought she was pretty. Nate's eyes wandered to her chest, but he quickly looked up.
"Nate." His father said.
"Huh?" Nate snapped out of his trance. "Sorry." He mumbled, and opened the door.
He stepped out, shielding his eyes from the summer sun. It was only the middle of June, but heat waves seemed to already start. His dad stepped out, and placed a firm hand on Nate's shoulder. He leaned forward and whispered
"You'd better not mess up. This deal is very important to us."
"Whatever."
They walked up the fine marvel stairs, where the Burkes were waiting.
"Welcome! Emerson and Walter!" Mrs. Burke said. She hugged everyone.
"And you must be Nate." She smiled.
