"Can I go?"

"No."

"Can I please go?"

Jerry kept his eyes on the tv popping out the word Layne knew was coming. "Nope."

"I'm not a kid. You're not even my parent. I shouldn't be asking you for permission. I'm going."

"You're not leaving this house, Layne. Just let it go. Maybe after your parents come back they'll let you go if you annoy them as much as you are me."

"But there's a party there tonight." Layne whined.

"Ha. That's too bad."

Layne sat in silence for a moment as he thought of some way to convince Jerry to let him go. With a hum he scooted closer next to Jerry on the couch.

"If you let me go I'll suck you off."

Jerry was a little tempted but he still stuck with his answer. He looked at Layne and could tell Layne was desperate to go by the look on his face.

"No." Jerry said sternly.

"Ugh. You're the worst. You push me to the side, won't let me hang with a friend, you-"

"I didn't push you to the side. Will you just shut up about it?"

Jerry immediately regretted what he said when he seen the hurt look on Layne's face. He only sat there a moment before standing up.

"Fine. I'll shut up about it. I'm going to my room. Don't bother to come knocking on my door." Layne said before storming upstairs. Jerry sighed.

It wasn't until later when Jerry actually got the courage to go to Layne's door and try to attempt to get in and give him an apology.

He stood behind the door and softly pecked. He didn't hear a sound from the other side but he knew Layne wasn't asleep just yet. It must've been really hurt when Jerry snapped at him.

"Layne, I know you're upset with me. Can you just please let me in and talk?" Jerry asked.

He waited for a response but heard nothing. Jerry was a bit worried. He didn't want to intrude Layne's privacy but he grabbed the doorknob and opened the door.

Jerry gasped when he seen Layne was gone and had left a crack in his window. He quickly ran over to the window but seen no trace of Layne anywhere.

     "Fuck!" Jerry muttered.

He knew exactly what Layne was up to. He had snuck out to go to a party. Jerry wondered how long he had even been gone but he knew he needed to hunt Layne down and bring him home where he would be safe and secure.

Jerry thought hard where Layne had said his friend lived. Down the street in the big red house.

"Down the street in the big red house." Jerry repeated. He ran back downstairs and grabbed his jacket.

He kept repeating that in his head as he drove down the street looking for the big red house. He had finally found it and guessed it was the one Layne was talking about since it was the only house painted red.

But things seemed calm. There was no loud music no loud noises and barely any lights on. It seemed peaceful but Jerry figured he was better safe than sorry.

Jerry knocked on the door and soon after heard footsteps behind it. A man with long dark hard and piercing blue eyes cracked open the door.

"Can I help you?" He asked. He seemed friendly enough.

"I'm sorry to bother you," Jerry sighed, "I'm looking for Layne. Is he here?"

     "Layne Staley?"

     "Yeah."

The man shook his head. "No man I haven't seen him for a few days now. Something going on?"

Jerry bit his lip. "Well he wanted to go to a party. He said you were throwing it. We got into a fight and he snuck out. I figured he'd be here."

"Oh well I-"

"Chris, who's at the door?" Another voice from the house said before he appeared beside the man Jerry was talking to.

"He's looking for Layne. Have you seen him, Eddie?"

Eddie shook his head. "Nope. But there was a party at Stone and Kurt's place. You checked there?"

"No but I say that's where he is. Uh..... where is Stone and Kurt's?"

"Just down the street here. You take a left, a right, then another left. The house is painted white with a red fence." Chris informed.

"Thanks so much. Sorry to bother you guys have a nice night." Jerry said.

"You to. Good luck finding your boyfriend." Chris said since he assumed that's what the two were.

Jerry only chuckled and hopped in his car before heading off to get Layne and bring him home.
