When I woke up everything surrounding me was very dark and the air seemed different somehow. It felt moist, almost like somebody tried to dump a bucket of water on me but the water got stuck. Yes I know it sounds strange. But I promise you I'm not crazy. I felt intense pain in my chest and my lungs felt invisible. Almost like they weren't there. How is that possible?!?!?! How can my lungs feel like they're missing?!?!?!

My breathing started to get more and more rapid the more I thought about my situation. I felt like my chest was going to explode so I went to stand up but felt something weighing me down. How can that be possible? How can something be weighing me down? I tried to see past the darkness but I was panicking to much for it to do any good. I couldn't see anything. I tried to calm myself down but it was no use.

"Where am I?" I screamed into the darkness.

"Oh, so you are alive?" A woman's voice said to me through the darkness.

"Of course I'm alive." I said like there was no reason for me to be dead. I heard the sound of heels clicking on the floor somewhere far away.

"Normal people would die from a gunshot to the heart. That's why it's called a fatal shot. Because it's deadly." She said in a harsh tone. Still I could hear the clicking of her heels but they sounded like they were getting closer.

"I'm not normal!" I screamed through the darkness.

"Sweetheart I know that. So what, are you a meta?" She chuckled at me as the sound of heels clicking kept coming closer.

"I'm not a meta." I say with a sigh.

"Sweetheart, only metas can survive a shot like that." She said sarcastically.

"I'm not a meta." I repeated through gritted teeth. The sound of her heels clicking stopped and my heart started to race. It seemed like it was silent for hours before I heard a faint click and was blinded by a white light. I clamped my eyes shut as the brightness began stinging my eyes. After a few minutes I was able to open them again without being blinded.

Surrounding me was something you'd read out of a book. Scratch that my life is a book. Even with all the things I had seen in my lifetime this amazed me. Surrounding me were dark crimson walls with a faint symbol etched into them, the floor was as shiny as gold, and the strangest part was how the whole area seemed to shift. There were countertops, weapon cases, locked doors, and a maroon suit. I looked at the suit more closely but the more I looked at it the more it seemed to change. This whole thing was making me dizzy.

"Who are you?" I ask her now curious.

"The more important question is, who are you?" She asked changing the question.

"I believe I asked you first." I said seriously.

"Since you're the one chained up in my lair I'll be asking the questions." She said with annoyance.

"You know as well as I do that I could break out of here whenever I want to." I said through gritted teeth.

"Then why are you still here?" She laughed while shaking her head. I rolled my eyes and sighed.

"I'm starting to wonder that myself." I said with venom.

"It's probably because you can't get out of here." She said while pretending to think about what she was saying. I got furious and I felt a familiar warmth slither it's way through my veins. I closed my eyes to concentrate on that feeling. It felt like lava was sloshing it's way through my veins like water. A feeling I have started to miss. I moved my anger throughout my body as I heard whatever was holding me down blow to pieces and my eyes flew open. I looked over at her and saw terror spread through her.
