I wake up next to my rifle as dawn cracks. The Furrys attacked last night.
How could they? I groggily wake up to stand guard. Nothing. Masters of Disguise. I decide to eat breakfast and think of the previous day. It was morning, and I heard the ear-piercing whistle as the furries crossed the border. We were completely outnumbered and had to retreat at least 1 mile. Eventually reinforcements came in and we held them to a stalemate. I saw my best friend die in front of me. How did it come to this? It was only the first day. As I got my sniper I looked at the furries as they began to entrench themselves. My Captain comes to me and tells me the news. Were going over the trench today. I feel like I'm ready. I finish my breakfast. By now the trench line is awake and busy. Loading artillery and getting prepared for the assault. A thick fog settles in. I think nothing of it but I was wrong. Suddenly, we hear a loud boom. It's almost as if time freezes as the artillery round flies above us and misses. They had used the fog to their advantage. Such fools we were to think they weren't capable of such things. Everyone gets ready in their defense positions. After the first artillery strikes we are bombarded by artillery. The artillery stops. We welcome the silence, but it does not last long. Finally, we hear the whistle as the furries go over their trench. We hear screaming as they are trapped in barb wire. When they get close our machine gunners take them out. I use my sniper rifle to take out those afar and take down at least 10. After that the furries are gone. We figure that that wont be for long as they must wait for reinforcements to attack again. Soon enough we all grab our rifles and get ready to climb the trench. Reconnaissance Planes tell us the points to attack. I gather with my squad. Finally, the whistle is blown and we climb the trench. There is little resistance and we take the trench. We celebrate the victory as dawn sets but little did we know, life was going to get harder.
