One look at his face and it was all over for me. Dark circles under his eyes, and a pale complextion made this Louis, not the Louis I knew.

"Come here." I whispered, holding my arms open as un-awkwardly as I could from my position on the bed.

He rushed toward me, gently pulling me into his body for a hug. From the drips of water on the back of my gown, I knew he was indeed crying, and soon his whole body was wracking with sobs and I let him- not caring how the back of me felt.

All his pain and all his sadness was poured out right onto my shoulder in the middle of my hospital room, and as bad as it looked, I didn't care. I missed my Louis- the Louis I loved. The Louis that smiled even through his pain. The Louis who had the crinkles on the sides of his eyes when he laughed too hard.

After a while, he pulled away and looked at me with smal, puffy eyes. With his breathing catching every so often, he said, "I missed you so much."

"How long has it been?" I asked. To me, it felt like a regular night's sleep.

"A week." he whispered, looking away from me. After a while of utter silence he spoke again, "This was all my fault. I should have waited, or even just turned around to get your phone. It would've been so much better if I had, but I'm stupid, so I didn't. I wanted it to be special- and it ended up not being."

"Wanted what to be special?" my tone was soft.

"I can't tell you," he sniffled. He used the sleeve of the shirt he was wearing to wipe under his eyes and nose, "it's a surprise."

"Lou-"

"Nope." he shook his head, "I'm not telling you."

I scoffed and looked away. He stayed silent for a while, and when I turned to look back at him, he was staring at me.

"I missed you so much." he repeated, just staring at me.

"C'mere." I made grabby hands towards him, pouting slightly. When he came close, I placed both my hands on his cheeks and pulled our lips together gently. He seemed surprised by the gesture, but soon kissed me back.

It was just like old times, and I was grateful for that.
