What should I do to get you to notice me?

I've known you for ten years now.

I can remember that moment clearly

When we first met in this small town.

I was playing in the sand.

You walked up to me.

You said hello.

I fell in love under the tree.

Many years passed.

We changed a lot.

But my feelings for you

Never changed just as I thought.

We rekindled our romance.

If it could be called that way.

I blurted out that I loved you.

You stopped believing in love that day.

I was always there for you.

Apparently that wasn't enough.

It's really hard to get a non-believer

to again believe in love.

It was really hard to hide.

You've always known how I felt.

With a tiny flicker of hope

And tears in my eyes I left.

We met again a few years later

Your heart was broken at the time.

Loving you was always hard

But it was worth the climb.

We hung out a few times after.

You bought me coffee. I brought us wine.

A few hours of getting drunk later

I repeated the same old line.

I told you I still loved you.

Not much has changed.

This time I was certain.

I wasn't ashamed.

But you still didn't believe me.

You weren't ready yet.

I stopped hoping,

Thought it was time to forget.

But now you still lead me on

And I want to know,

What should I do to get you to notice me?
