Ever since I met Vincent I felt weird. Like there was something missing but I couldn’t quite put my finger on what it was, I just had a feeling that it was important. Maybe it was a coincidence, or maybe not. Being a friend of the Mikealson family taught me that if you couldn’t find a logical explanation for something, it was most likely related to the supernatural world. So I decided to talk to someone about this.
I was on my way to Davina’s, she was the most powerful witch in town, she surely knows what’s going on.
As I was walking down the streets I felt like there was someone watching me.
I quickened up my pace and sent a text to Rebekah at the same time.
Well, could you blame me? I was just a human and I’m pretty sure that the few karate lessons I’ve taken up were pretty useless against a supernatural being.
A hand wrapped around my arm and swept me around, I was ready to punch the guy when I saw it was just Vincent.
He had a friendly smile on his face but something was not quite right with him.
“Hey Y/N, where are you going in such a hurry? I called you a couple of time but you didn’t hear me.”
Wait what? I was pretty sure that no one has called my name.
“Oh,I didn’t hear you. I’m going to Davina’s. I need her help with something.”
He looked at me in a curious way and looked deeply and firmly in my eye and asked me:
“What’s the problem?”
I certainly didn’t want to tell him the truth but strangely that was exactly what I did.
Weird. It’s almost like the words were forced out of my mouth. Then it hit me. I was being compelled!
“What the hell are you doing Vincent? Get out of my head!” I tried to break free from his grip only to get him to push me against a wall with so much force that I’m sure I’m going to have a bump tomorrow. He laughed at my weak attempt.
“I was wondering when you were going to come around. It took you a while but I know that you’re a smart girl. That’s why I chose you. Well, one of the reasons.”
I felt dizzy and my head hurt because of the impact with the wall.
“Honestly, I’m a bit lost. You chose me? For what? What are you talking about?”
“You see,me and me fellow vampires were living our lives just fine before that bastard hybrid came to New Orleans. I just want him to go back to where he came from,to get rid of him.”
“Klaus is never going to leave this city and I hope you’re not that delusional to think that you and your friends stand a chance against him”
Maybe it was best if I stayed silent because he didn’t like my sassy remark and put a hand against my neck holding it in a firm and tight grip.
“Well of course not, darling. We’re very well aware of the fact that he is immortal. That’s why we need you. When he knows that you’re in danger,he’ll come to your rescue and we’ll blackmail him. Your safety or the city.”
“You’ve got the wrong girl then. Klaus doesn’t care about me that much. I’m just his sister’s friend. Nothing more” I said still struggling in his grip
“Oh sweetie, you really don’t know,do you? The guy would kill for you” he said releasing me from his grip resulting me to fell down since I was too weak to stand.
“That’s not a meaningful thing. Klaus is known for his murderous tendencies. That doesn’t make me any special.”
That was true. Among the Mikealson brothers, he was the one with whom I bonded less. He’d always kept his distance. I caught him staring a couple of times but I've never really thought about it. I thought he’d found me annoying or something like that.
At the same time though, whenever you were alone for some reason,he would start a conversation and you two would talk for hours.
In all honesty, I found him quite fascinating and captivating but seeing as he would avoid me most of the time I realised that he didn’t fancy me.
Vincent was about to reply was a voice was heard:
“Step away from her or I’ll punch you.”
So it appeared that Rebekah did receive my text.
I smiled thinking I was safe when another voice spoke.
“Just a punch? Oh my merciful sister! I was thinking more about death.”
I looked in the direction of the voices just to see Klaus’ yellow hybrid eyes sparkling.
“What is he doing here?” I thought “Could it really be that Vincent was right?”
Almost as if he heard my thoughts, Vincent looked at me as if to say “Told you!”
The dizziness was only getting worse and I felt my eyelids getting heavier. Icouldn’t keep my eyes open and was slowly fading into the darkness when I felt someone picking me up and whispering “I’ve got you, love.” and then everything went black.
