8:15 am

I groaned as I hit the accelerator . My mind was on only one focus. Who could have found us that fast. It had been only 6 months we've settled there. With a protection shield around the house, it's becoming really fuzzy in my head. What was my mistake? I tried recalling all the time we had been there and the more i remember the worser the confusion became.

I pressed forward the accelerator and turned the wheel to dodge few cars. To my dismay, it takes only minutes for vehicles filled the road. I had to slow the car as the midway was zigzag in a traffic. Shit shit shit... I tapped my wheel from time to time to let my frustration went out. Other drivers do not mind to let out theirs by honking. The car in front had stopped its engine. I do so and then open the glove compartment. I took out the ivory envelope - the one I'd received this morning. I read again what was written in black on this aged parchment. It was concise and precise.

"Meet me at the Clifford cliff at 9 am or else the girl will pay the price."

Every word stung only fueling the fire that burned inside of me. My fists began to clench and my jaw rooted. This morning i could restrain my anger only to act before my sister but now reading it again make me  want to tear that person down.

After 20 minutes stuck in there, the cars started moving. Its 8:45. I turned on the engine rotate the wheel in a small intersection. By  passing into avenues and avoiding the highway i could reached there faster, i thought.Indeed, from 100 meters distance i could see the sign directing towards Clifford. Parking the car on the white line, i get out and walked.

The cliffs rose sheer from the jungle, towering ramparts of stone that glinted jade-blue and dull crimson in the sun. It looked insurmountable, that giant palisade with its sheer curtains of solid rock in which bits of quartz winked dazzlingly in the sunlight. When was the last time i got to appreciate a view like this i thought nostalgia filling my head.

"Enjoying the view?", i heard a voice behind me. My body instantly grew into alert.

I turned and look at him fiercely. "Who are you?"

He smiled. " A hint my dear friend... So beautiful and cold, young but so old, alive but soooo dead."

I flinched.

"Vampiric isn't it?"

And then a loud cruel loud echoed all over the cliff.
