Like usual I was in class day dreaming. It happened to me too often, and now the teacher (and everyone in class) was looking at me. I looked up at the teacher, and she did not look happy.

"God Veronica, just answer the question"

I turned around and saw Archie Andrews and his gang. They were all laughing thinking that was the most clever thing anyone had ever said. It didn't surprise me, together they had as many brain cells as a tree. I turned back around to face the teacher and read what she had written on the board, and I did not get one bit.

"Veronica, I need an answer" the teacher said, which caused the boys behind me to laugh even louder.

I looked at the board again and just couldn't grasp what it said. I had never been good at history, and the words written were not making sense to me at all.

"The war ended in 1945"

I turned around once again and looked at Archie. He had just saved me from being even more humiliated, or he just wanted to show he was smarter than me. The second one sounded more believeble.

"Thank you Archie. And Veronica, please try to listen and follow along"

I nodded at the teacher before looking down at my notes that were blank, except the small figures I had drawn on them.

After what felt like hours the bell rang and class was over. I practically ran out of the classroom. I walked to my locker and started putting my stuff into it.

"You're welcome"

I turned and saw Archie standing leaning to the locker next to mine.

"For what?"

"Saving your pretty little ass in class"

"If the teacher had told me the question again I would've been able to answer it"

"Sure, if you say so"

"You really don't think I'm that smart?"

"No, I know you're not that smart"

"Wow, I almost told you 'thank you'. You really are an asshole"

"Ouch, that hurt me" he said and faked a sad face.

I took my stuff and walked away from him. My next class was in an hour and before that all I had was lunch. I walked into the cafeteria and looked for my best friend Betty. I couldn't see her anywhere, so I picked up my phone and tried to call her. She didn't pick up so I sat down alone at a table. After only a few minutes Betty came running into the cafeteria.

"So sorry I'm late. I, ehm, was busy"

"Really, doing what?" I said even though I knew exactly what she had done.

"I was studying"

"Your hair is telling me a different story" I said laughing.

"Shut it. Fine I was with Jughead, but we just made out"

"Sure" I said still laughing.

Jughead was Betty's boyfriend. If you saw them you would think they were one of those couples that never had sex, but it was the opposite. I'm not saying they did it all the time, but way too often for my taste. Not that I was in a state of mind where I would say no to sex, I just didn't wanna do it so often. When I thought about it, it had been awhile since last. I guess I wasn't that innocent myself, but I hadn't had sex in super long.

"Veronica, are you listening"

"What?"

"God, you have to stop with the day dreaming, it's annoying as hell. I was just wondering if you want to go to a party at Cheryl's on Friday?"
