After school I followed Betty to her house.

"You want something to eat?" Betty said as we walked into their perfectly decorated kitchen.

Their house was even more perfectly decorated than mine. Betty's mom had been busy cleaning and organizing her house every second she wasn't working since she had gotten a divorce. Her ex-husband and her used to own the local newspaper together. But after the divorce she had fired him and now she owned it on her own. She was one of those moms you sorta looked up too cause they did a lot. They worked hard, had a beautiful house and kids, everything seemed perfect. But if you really knew Alice Cooper you knew she had issues. Betty said that a day didn't go by without Alice drinking at least three glasses of wine, sometimes even more. Betty also had a sister Polly, but she had moved out of town a few years ago after she had given birth to her twins. Betty always says that the twins are a big reason that her parents got a divorce. They had never really been happy together, and their daughter getting pregnant at a young age was the last straw in their relationship.

"Mom made fruit salad this morning, you want some?"

"Sure, sounds good"

Betty took out one big bowl with fruit salad and two smaller bowls that she filled with fruit salad. She gave me one of the bowls and a spoon. I started eating the fruit.

"So, what are you doing about Archie?"

"I have no idea. I just want him to stop flirting with me"

"So just ignore him"

"I can't do that"

"Of course you can. Just don't be near him and if he talks to you just seem really annoyed"

"There's just one problem"

"What?" Betty said and I looked down so that she wouldn't see me blushing.

"You don't have feelings for him, right?" Betty continued.

"I don't know. I can't have feelings for him. But every time he's near me I get this weird feeling"

"God, I was joking, but it seems like you have feelings for him"

"I don't know. It doesn't feel like romantic feelings, more like sexual ones"

"So what, you think you wanna sleep with him and then it'll go away?" Betty said laughing.

"Don't laugh, I honestly have no idea what's going on and it's driving me crazy"

"I'm sorry" Betty said, still laughing "I just think it's funny that you can't admit you have feelings for him when they are clearly there"

"You suck"

"Okay Veronica don't get mad. Why is it so bad to have feelings for him?"

"Because he's Archie, he'll never like me"

"But since when does Archie Andrews pine after a girl. He's been flirting with you for weeks and he still isn't tired of you"

"You know you're wrong, he's not into me at all"

"Fine, if you say so. If we change the subject, will we start getting ready for the party right after school tomorrow?"

"That feels sorta early"

"Come one, it'll be fun. We can order pizza for dinner and just hang out before"

"Fine, it sounds great"

I stayed at Betty's place until dinner. When I walked inside I could smell burgers from Pop's. I walked into the kitchen and my mom and dad were already eating.

"Veronica, sorry we didn't wait. We just got so hungry" my mom said pulling out a chair so that I could sit down next to her.

I walked over and sat down next to her. I grabbed a burger and began to eat. I could feel my parents both stare at me.

"What?"

"Just..." my mom began, but her words never came out.

"It's about the party you're going to tomorrow" my dad continued.

"We've already discussed this, so now what's wrong?"

"It's at Cheryl's" my mom said.

"I know you don't like Cheryl, but I know who she is. I'll be careful. How do you know the party is there by the way?"

"A little bird told us" my mom said, looking over at my dad.

"Reggie told you, didn't he?"

"He just wanted to see if we knew" my dad said.

"Well now you know and I promise I will be careful"

"We've heard rumors about her parties, they always go overboard" my mom said.

"I won't let it go overboard. Now, can I please finish my meal?" I said and they both nodded at me.

After dinner I walked to my room. I had some homework to do so I sat down on my bed, grabbed my computer and started to write an essay for history. We were supposed to write 2000 words explaining out thoughts and feelings about the second world war. I knew what I thought about it, it was one of the scariest things that has ever happened in this world. But I had no idea how to get it down on paper. I got a text and picked up my phone.

Reggie;
What time am I picking you up tomorrow?

I couldn't help but smile when I read the text from Reggie.

Veronica;
Can Betty go with us too?

Reggie;
Ofc, what time?

Veronica;
Eight is fine.

I put my phone down on my bed and grabbed my computer again. I was trying to write when I got another text.

Anonymous;
How are you getting to the party tomorrow?

Veronica;
I'm sorry, who is this?

Anonymous;
Sorry, forgot you don't have my number beautiful.

Veronica;
Archie?

Anonymous;
You guessed right.

I changed his name to 'asshole' instead of 'anonymous'.

Veronica;
I am going with Reggie and Betty, why?

Asshole;
You're taking your boy toy to a high school party?

Veronica;
He's not my boy toy.

Asshole;
Fine, see you tomorrow.

He really was a big asshole. I basically threw my phone back on the bed. I didn't have the energy to work on my essay anymore so I put my computer away and turned my tv on. There wasn't much on, so I just let some comedy show be on in the background while I looked through Instagram on my phone. There wasn't much fun there either. Instagram was full of people posting pictures of their adventures, while I was stuck in Riverdale not being able to go anywhere. My parents had the money to go places, and we did go places. But that was with my family, it was not the same thing as going on a trip with friends.
I turned the tv off and decided to take a shower to make time go by. I took my clothes off and stepped into the shower. I turned the water on and felt the hot water calm me down. I closed my eyes and tired to unplug from the world when I heard my phone buzz, again. I turned the water off, stepped out of the shower and put a towel around my body. I walked back to my room and picked up my phone.

Betty;
I know we planned a whole day tomorrow, but Jughead wanted to hang out with me after school. Okay with you?

Veronica;
Ofc, he's your boyfriend

In reality it didn't bother me that much that she chose Jughead over me. I mean, it obviously sucked that she would rather hang out with Jughead than me, but I was never really up to hanging out with her. It was her idea, I had just said yes cause she wanted me to. Now I could just relax after school before going to the party.
