Casey awoke with a start. She, as well as Jim, was also having disturbing dreams, but she preferred to keep them to herself, unlike Jim, who shared his dreams. Casey always kept certain things hidden, and other things revealed. She thought if to tell Jim about the dreams that she was having, about her seeing an incredible flash of light coming from behind her before feeling herself vanish, but decided against it. She looked at her watch, which was at her bedside table. She did not need any light to see the time, as she did possess natural night-vision. The clock read 6am, which means she awoke an hour earlier than what she usually wakes. Casey attempted to roll back into the bed and snuggle the pillow to try coax sleep, but no dice. She decided to do some stretches, which was part of her daily routine, only this time an hour earlier than usual. She walked to the kitchen after finishing her stretches, and grabbed a banana from the fruit bowl. She peeled it and began eating it, while walking back to her bedroom. She finished the banana and threw it into her bin. She opened her drawer and picked out a pair of black tracksuit pants, with the one vertical stripe, she put on a short-sleeved purple shirt; purple was one of her favorite colors, after all. She walked out of her room, but not before picking up her phone and earbuds, and continued walking until she reached the front door, which she opened and closed, after walking through it. Casey decided to have an hour walk, which she usually did later in the day, but due to these special circumstances, she brought it forward to almost immediately after awaking. It would not hurt to have a wake up jog, anyway.
Casey plugged her earbuds and began to jog around the block, while the sky is still a chilly cyan. The cool breeze which would have required a jacket for a human was nullified thanks to Casey's fur. She reached a traffic light and paused to have a look around her. There were quite a few people like her around, all with earbuds in their ears and phones in their pockets, all following their routine. The traffic light flashed a bright LED green and Casey continued on her trail. As she continued on her path, she looked behind herself and saw one of her friends catching up on her. She paused her music and unplugged her earbuds. His beak popped to the side of her just seconds before the rest of his body had made it to the same speed and pace as Casey's.
"Hey, Casey! Long time no see," The feathery fellow said to Casey.
"Mark! How's it been?" Casey responded, it's been a while since she contacted him, or he contacted her, so it was great to catch up.
"You finally got through to Leon or is he still a brick wall?"
"M-Maaaybe..." Casey replied, with slight color showing in her cheeks as she quickly looked away, "We've been on a date or two b-but nothing serious yet. I don't know why, but he isn't telling me where he works, but I guess it's not my business to ask."
"Good luck with that, then." Mark said, as he quickly checked his watch for the time. "Time for me to go, gotta get back home for work." Mark finished, and jogged off until Casey could not see him. She too, also had to get home for work, but her work was possibly more villainous than most could imagine.
Casey got back to the house, she had just a little over twenty minutes to prepare before she was off. Opening a small metal crate with a four digit code that only she knew, she took out a large roll of blueprint paper, already marked with layouts of the building.
It all started eighty years ago. Thomas Felidus, the great grandfather of Casey Felidus, moved to the Multiplex in the 1940's. He managed to form a small company of automobiles and electrical appliances, which quickly became successful. In the 1950's, five years after the formation of Felidus Electrics, the Stoares family emigrated from Avildonia, they too, started a company, but they did not start it in the Multiplex. The Stoares family had begun their Electrics company back in Avildonia, with Nikola Stoares forming the company in 1941. Within a time frame of six years, Stoares Lighting had successfully taken over the electrics market from Felidus Electrics. Felidus slowly, but surely, began to lose more and more footing in the business world, whereas Stoares Lighting grew more and more, eventually reaching its threshold and reformed in the 1970's, where Nikola's son, Tobias, who had taken over his fathers' business, renamed it to Talon Enterprises.
Felidus Electrics, who was once a powerhouse in the electrics industry, quickly faded away. Thomas's daughter, Michelle realized this, and in an attempt to regain a grasp in the world of commerce, began two other branches of Felidus Electrics, and two months later, in the Fall of 1972, formed Felidus Furniture and Felidus Tools. Michelle Felidus then combined all three branches of Felidus, and combined them into Claw Co.
Talon Enterprises and Claw Co. now found themselves stern enemies, as Talon grew, Claw also did. Michelle successfully ingrained her business knowledge to her two children, Blutarch and Faith. Blutarch was vivacious, he was able to charm people into any deal; they say he could sell ice to a penguin. Faith was a little more reserved, of little words, she had a bright mind, and was able to easily predict what would work and what would not. Together they reaped massive profits and managed to put Claw Co. back into the game. Then, disaster struck. Faith went missing. Without the brains of her, Claw Co. slowly began fading; Blutarch blamed Talon for the disappearance of his beloved sister, but no one ever really knew what ended up happening to her. This did not stop Talon from growing, with Tobias's son Arvid taking the heel; who was blessed with extraordinary business sense, skyrocketed Talon far beyond the horizon of what Claw Co. could ever reach. Of course, Claw Co. did not die, it merely lapsed into the shadows. You could still find furniture with Claw Co. signed underneath it, or perhaps a hammer with "Designed by Faith and Blutarch Felidus." written on it.
