I walked up to the door, hesitant, but it needed to be done.
I twirled my black hair around my index finger, and with the other hand I fiddled with the hemming of my Tee-shirt. The big wooden door stared at me, my gunmetal-blue eyes blinked, a shiver ran through my nerves. As I raised my hand from my shirt to knock, I was about to bring my hand to the door when a car honked its horn, and I brought my hands to my pocket and walked away.
'Anything to get away from talking to her, anything to get out of it.' I kept repeating things along those lines as I walked off down the road.
"Hayden!" A voice screamed after me. I just kept walking, not bothering to turn around, I know who it is. "Hayden! Wait up!"
I felt someone running, push into me then slow down.
"Why didn't you knock?" Ashley asked, pushing her poofy purple tinted brunette hair from her face. I looked up from the pavement into her chocolate eyes, quickly turning away to look where I was going as if that were my plan all along.
"Oh, I didn't realise this was your street. If I'd known I'd have dropped in." I lied, looking around at my surroundings to try to support my act.
"Oh, that explains why you were just on my front porch." She jumped in front of me, forcing me to a halt. I just looked around at the town, avoiding her gaze.
"I, I was listening to your mum, your mum was on the phone. And, she, was talking to Dr. Harris." I explained, finally looking her in the eye.
"And?"
"Um, they- they know I'm imaginary." I stated blankly, I don't want to say it.
"What's the big deal? Lots of people have imaginary friends..." We kept walking.
"They're putting you on drugs! They're going to give you medication that will wipe part of your memory, the part that I exist in." I kinda maybe yelled, but it doesn't matter, only Ashley can hear me.
"Don't yell! I just won't take them. I will throw out the medication, I won't have to take it." She told me, she held on. I grabbed her and shook her back and forth, "don't you get it? It won't be optional! They will find a way! In your food or drink, while your sleeping! They will get it inside you! You will have to forget me, they won't stop until it happens Ash." I shook her once more, hoping it would help her understand. I might be just a figment of a teenagers mind but I can do all the things humans can, just, only one of them can see me... "You can't prevent, what's inevitable." The message is through.
"I will, I promise I will stay with you until the pills have done their job." I hugged her, tears, one by one, dripping down her light cheeks and onto my shoulder." I'll just get weaker, with every pill, I get weaker until I die off. It doesn't happen instantly."

I sat on the lounge, Ashley walked into the kitchen to make a cup of tea. The doorbell rung, that's Dianne, she probably has a certain Dr. Harris with her. Ashley answered the door's summon and right on queue, enter: evil. I moved from my location on the lounge, over to one of the kitchen stools that was probably used to get something down from the top shelf.
"Ashley, Dr. Harris and I have noticed that, you talk to someone who isn't there-" They got cut off," Hayden! Her name is Hayden! And she told me why you're here! You want her gone! You want me to kill her, wipe her from every memory I have with her!" Ashley screamed, tears re-emerged in the corner of her eyes.
"Ashley, you have to understand. Hayden isn't real, she is causing bad habits..." Dr Harris explained.
"I don't care, I know that regardless of what I say, I'm going to have them shoved down my throat one way or another. Pass me the bottle." She cried, but remained straight forward.
