POV: Irene Quincy Baker
I picked up Lola's unconscious body with all my strength. Why is it so much harder to pick someone up when they are out cold? I thought. I looked down at Lola's face, pale with rosiness on her cheeks, normally when I look at her I think of all the stupid things we've done together, but at this moment I don't know what I thought. My mind went on a freak out of its own and escalated from point a to point z in four seconds flat. Thinking of all the fun stuff we did as kids then thinking of her lying there in the hospital bed helpless. My mind got the best of me making me scream internally and externally.
I let out a huge quivering gasp "HELP!!!!" I yelled tearing up. PLEASEEEE!!!! I looked around frantically to see if anyone would help up, But really I'm only a fifteen year old girl I had no clue what to do in this situation. HELP US WE NEED TO KNOW WHATS GOING ON!!!!
I saw a fated shadow out of the corner of my eye on the cement floor. It was Tommo trying to see if the ambulance assistants will help up, but I didn't see we're else he went because by then the pastel grey clouds had been covering the sun. PLEASE SOMEONE!!! ANYONE!!! Suddenly I gasp and swiftly turn around from fright by the feeling of someone holding my shoulder from behind me.
"Come on we need to just take her inside!!" Adam demanded. "There's no use freaking out like this!" "What good is it doing Lola!?"
I didn't want to admit it but for once Adam made a clear statement that was correct. I stood there stunned looking at him dead in the eyes while my brain played tricks on me making me feel more panicky and worrisome.
Adam finally took Lola from my arms and threw her over his shoulders wrapping her legs around his waist. In the back of my mind wanted to scold him for treating her like such a rag doll but now wasn't the time. He began to take off. Tommo turned around and dashed off right behind him. It took me a short 3 seconds to get my sh!t together and run as if I'm running for Benedict Cumberbatch.
As soon as we made it through the cold glass doors I think we all were trying to catch our breath again after running so far from from the Hospitals entrance. We all frantically searched around for the check in desk until we found out we were on the wrong floor and were left with no option but to go to the lift and check in on floor 2. We all stood in the elevator looking at each other with fright in our eyes.
Tommo held out his arms wanting to hold Lola but feeling like a protective sister I would but my arm to cover her up and lay my head upon hers. Adam would give me the weirdest looks whenever I acted so protective but it wasn't by choice it just happened. No words were said in that lift, but you can tell what everyone was thinking by the look in our faces.
The one ping of the bell broke the silence until we all rushed out of the lift looking like a bunch of crazy people. I turned my head to the right and Tommo to his left and debated what wing to go to until we saw the check in desk down the hall in front of our eyes.
I smacked my flat palm on the desk alarming the nurse sitting behind the desk "How fast can we see a doctor!?" I asked a little frantic.
She gave me a snobby look from behind the desk and just handed me a clip board and said "Your going to have to wait like everyone else little girl." She rolled her blue-grey eyes and carelessly threw a pen up on the clip board. "Write down what's wrong and go wait."
I gave her a dirty look as I grabbed the old black Bic pen and began to fill out the paper work. I noticed behind me Tommo having his nervous tick of shaking his leg and biting his index finger. Mean while Lola completely knocked out on Adam! She was through over his shoulder, her face curled into his neck and her legs were gently crossed and across Adam's upper thigh, and her arms were folded into herself. As for Lola her hair was taken down from the pony tail and her beanie down to her nose so the sunlight doesn't make her worse. Tommo still shaking his leg behind me I continues to write and said "You can not freakout Tommo I know this okay!" Adam tries to make a cocky remark by saying "What are you a Mom!?" My witty mind automatically fired back a sarcastic response "Yes and I have a moronic husband and an idiotic son with a dying little sister." I glanced over at Adam for a second to see if he had any thing to say and continued to fill out the papers.
