A new me.
I told myself that there would be a "new" me. I'm not very sure what I was promising myself, but it got me here; back at school as if nothing changed.

I took in a deep breath as the air from outside rushed in through a cracked window. Today is a new day and for once in my life, I didn't have to worry about Nayeon, Yerin, or anyone.

"Ha!" I heard a loud voice yell, slapping their hands on my shoulders in a way that could only make me scream.

It was BamBam.

"Scared you, right?" He asked, waiting for my nod. "Did you hear about the new couple?"

"Ah... what new couple?" My mind was somewhere else, envisioning how nice it would be if me and Jackson could just... talk. Alone.

"Nayeon and..." BamBam placed his hand on his head, lips pursed in deep thought. "Junhook? Junghyuk?"

My eyes widen and before I could even respond, Nayeon and Junhyuk walk in. Everyone in the classroom begins to cheer.

Nayeon couldn't hide her blush and smile, flashing her bunny teeth for everyone to see.

Junhyuk, on the other hand, smiled wryly; avoiding eye contact. My heart rate quickened and I let a flood of emotions wash over me: happiness, sadness, conflict. Our gazes met for a split second and we both just as quickly let ourselves look away.

I gave Nayeon an approving smile and looked back at a dumbfounded BamBam, his jaw agape.

"You-" he looked upwards at Nayeon, then back to me. "You and Nayeon? I can't say I don't believe it, but..."

"But? But you don't. I know, I know! I can barely believe it, either. I'm just happy for them." My heart felt heavy for a bit with only thoughts of Junhyuk dating Nayeon because I told him to, not because he wanted to.

BamBam checked the time on his watch, his eyes widening slightly.

"I-I've got to go real fast! I'll be back soon! I forgot my lunch and Jackson came to drop it off!" The lanky boy yelled, his voice becoming a blur the farther he went out the door and down the hall.

Did I just hear him say Jackson? I'm definitely going, no questions asked. I knew I had to stay for when class started. But, before I knew it, my feet traced where BamBam went and one thing led to another.

I'm finally going to see him after what felt like an eternity. And that longing feeling made me blush in anticipation.
